Dread Knight Stats and You!
EDIT: 24-JAN-07 01:57 CST
BIG UPDATE! According to the latest patch notes, the effectiveness of the DEX stat may not be as significant to tanks as it was before. They have REMOVED mitigation from the stats effect completely. It still provides increases to evasion, but overall it is not as uber a stat as it once was. Here are the patch notes, take what you will from it, but now it really makes me wonder what the best stat for a Tank is... I had my heart set on maxing DEX, now I don't know. - Dexterity bonus to melee evasion and spell evasion has been re-centered. The new maximum with 18 points per level is 17%. - Dexterity no longer grants a bonus to mitigation, it still grants a bonus to evasion. That part of mitigation has been shifted into block, dodge and parry. - Block, dodge and parry now have different chances with max skill for your level against an even con NPC. Light Fighters: 8% dodge chance, 8% parry chance, and 4% block chance. Heavy Fighters: 10% block chance, 4% dodge chance, and 4% % parry chance. Healers: 6% dodge chance and 4% parry chance. Casters: 6% dodge chance. The disciple has an 8% chance to dodge instead of the normal 6% given to healers. I have updated the stat information based on my research and the new patch notes. I decided to break it down individually for the Dread Knight class by race. The information contained below is what your stats will be for your race at level 50 with NO buffs, NO clothes, and NO points spent. This is the absolute minimum your Dread Knight can have based on what race you pick. Remember for the NON-Humans you can spend 4 points per ability per level, and the Human races can spend 5 points per stat per level. If you want to know what it would be if you absolutely maxed it just add 164 (4x41 NON-Humans) or 205 (5x41 Humans) to that stat to assume you give it 4/5 points per level. Some things to consider, the difference in hit points between a Vulmane (no bonus) and Orc (max bonus) is 246HP. If both races maxed CON they would be at 255 CON (765HP @ 3HP / CON) and 337 CON (1011HP @ 3HP / CON) for a difference of 246HP (1011 - 765). Now if some one can tell me what the ratio of CON:Resists is, I could calculate the differences there as well. But as far as HP goes, the difference is not all that dramatic. As I understand it at 40+ 246HP is less than one hit, although every bit counts. EDIT: Added in "IF MAXED" for each race. This is what each stat would be if you spent MAX points in that stat every level. It is NOT what your stats will be all around since at best you can only MAX 2 stats per level. ALSO, check out this Stat Calculator! Made by: Saty over in the Training Grounds. It will let you spend some points to get an idea of how your stats will end up if you didn't MAX the stat every level. Code:
Starting at level 10 characters start to gain racial attributes. The following table illustrates the attribute bonus attribute points that a character will receive. All characters receive one point in every attribute each level in addition to the bonus points. Race STR CON DEX VIT WIS INT Varanjar 1 2 0 0 1 0 Varanthari 2 1 0 0 1 0 Dwarf 0 3 0 0 1 0 Dark Elf 0 0 1 0 1 2 High Elf 0 0 0 0 3 1 Wood Elf 0 0 2 2 0 0 Gnome 0 1 0 0 0 3 Goblin 0 0 0 3 0 1 Half Elf 0 0 2 1 1 0 Lesser Giant 3 1 0 0 0 0 Halfling 0 0 3 0 1 0 Kojani* 0 0 0 0 0 0 Mordebi* 0 0 0 0 0 0 Qaliathari* 0 0 0 0 0 0 Thestran* 0 0 0 0 0 0 Kurashasa 0 2 0 0 0 2 Orc 2 2 0 0 0 0 Raki 0 0 1 2 0 1 Vulmane 1 0 1 0 2 0 In addition to the bonus points each race with the exception of the four human races (Kokani, Mordebi, Qaliathari and Thestran) earns 10 attribute customization points per level. The non-human races may spend up to 4 attribute points in each attribute per level. They do not all have to be spent at the same time. At level 11 a character could have spent 8 points total in any one attribute. *The human races gain 14 attribute customization points per level and may spend 5 points in a single attribute per level. There is no longer attribute gain associated with your class. The link at which you obtained your data is a bit dated. Sigil has changed it to a blanket non specific gain in points reguardless of which race or class you are. I do not have link to that change atm. Currently Sigil is adjusting this along with racial abilities. So what you have obtained and what is currently present is more than likely going to change significantly come luanch.

Hey Xaices, I would love to see the new data broken down over here if you find out soon. Not trying to give you more work, hehe...but it seems sometimes they implement changes, and only a small portion of people have any clue what it all means.
I was kind of enjoying the fact that some races would excel at some classes. If the new system is in place to create no disparity, that is indeed disappointing. -Eclipse

If I am not mistaken that is the same link that Tazzrin has been passing around on the Warrior boards, and is still making updates to regularly. He just made a post in his stickied thread on the Jan. 15th about this information and the information itself was updated on Jan. 8th.
Are you sure it isn't still accurate? The in game information also seems to suggest it is accurate, although I have not looked at the in game stats very extensively myself to contradict you. If this is dated, perhaps you have a link to the updated information?

Ohh, really? I did not know that. Well in any event I will leave this here until it changes then update the information once the new parameters are discovered. This way if it doesn't get changed then we still have the template.

Bump for great justice!
And because it has updated information. Hope it helps, please point out any errors on my part. EDIT: Please reread the first post as the entire contents of it has changed since I originally posted it.

I still think Humans or DE will turn out to be some of the better stat wise DKs. Lesser giant is pretty good as well.
Human Melee build: Code:
