The look of the Dreadknight, what should it be like?
How do you all envision your dk selves ? cald in dark skeletal armor ? looking like the wraiths from LOtr ?
I myself want my DK to look like the Red Monks from the book "Dusk" (in the book they just were a claok of crinsom , and because of their resolve to destroy magic, can ward of any injuriey, even death itself.) srry, srry...that book is great though, but im going off-topic. Do you think that Sigil knows what we want our dk's to look like ? if any of you play wow, think the pallidan Tier 5 armor...looks like a power ranger  ...not what the comunity wants, but thats the T5. Im hoping that the DK's end-game armor will really define the class, and from a distance the enemy will know what class we are. |

In all honesty, what I liked about the dread knight is that they are one with the hopelessness with reality. I want my dread knight to walk with a seeming weight on his shoulders. As he walks through a crowd he does not make eye contact with anyone, however everyone turns to see him. He dressed in thick black plate, and you can see his face. He has nothing to hide. He isn't depressed, he just understands reality, and the futility of most things.

Depending on what race a DK is I would expect them to look differently. I also would expect different races to have different ideals about their DKs. Like a Vulmane DK wouldn't be as evil as a Dark Elf DK and thus the armor would inherently be different. And then I expect the player tobe a big part in how they look.
But hey, that's just me. |

i definitly like the idea of the differing beliefs of the dk based on race.
for instance, in the new WoW ex-pac, the evil elves are getting paladins, the protectors and users of the Light. To justify this, the lore, and quests for the paladin class , refer to the as BloodKnights, who simply use the Light to gain power . ( so for the wow haters, but its a good example.) id love to see diferring quest text or maybe a different spell depeneding on what the race was. |

I want my Dread Knight to have a look of foreboding with an air of despair that projects through his darkened gaze. Aesthetically speaking, I feel that heavy dark plate armor is a must, with spikes... but not too many spikes that he may look like a porcupine. Just a few spikes in the shoulder, elbow, knee and foot areas.

nay nay nay.... that pic IMO looks like a dreadknight mainly because of the skull in the background. armor overall looks decent i must say, but the helm in my mind associates with that class helm for barbarians in DII, or a bike helmet.
But than I am a bit biased, I have always liked helms that are middle eastern themed, things designed as one big main piece, and a piece of ring armor that you can cover most of your face with. Difference from European themed helm is that it is lighter. But that again if someone decides to hit you in the face with a 2hander, it doesnt make any different if you got 1KG of steel on your head, or 10KG of steel. |

Take away the wings on the armor, and make the edges a bit less "smooth", and I would wear it.
Basically, for me - I may be one of the only Dreadknights planning on role-playing a 'good guy'. what makes it even more bizarre is that I am launching an Orc. So the stigma may be hard to overcome, but I plan on having a good time with it. To me, I would see my Dreadknight in mostly dark colors. Black, Dark Grey, Dark Blue, even a decent shade of purple...but that's stretching the envelope. I'm not sure if I want to toggle on my cape either. I want to go away from a lot of stereo-types though, and a Dreadknight I create will focus on maces and mauls as opposed to axes and slicing weapons. I may be a bit more into RP than a lot of you guys, so I'll spare you the details, but while *I* don't think of Batman when I'm playing Dreadknight...I understand how others could view it as such while watching. I think mor along the lines of Minotaur honor, and while I don't know anything about Star Trek - I have been told, I put "klingon" in my character...(I never liked Star Trek, hopefully I'm not flogged and beaten for saying it, but I do know what a klingon is, and it seems to be an ok comparison to what I have in my head) -Eclipse
