I see a Dreadknight as the one who bursts from the shadows, challenging the the enemy threatening someone else, and after striking down the offender then melts back into the night, ignoring the gratitude, maybe even threatening the other to leave him alone on his journey.
On a marketplace the crowd will part before him as he has this aura around him that forbids coming too near, even making people uneasy in his presence.

He stands out from other fighters in his dark, heavy and unadorned plate armor, made for fighting not for a parade, his face is pale from wearing a heavy helmet all the time.

Sorry in advance for the SW plug...

I imagine Darth Vader walking through the deathstar, clad in black plate with people tripping over themselves to get away from him and trembling in fear. They should project an aura of fear, despair, and foreboding.

Wow, I think I'll be quoting you to others when they ask me what a Dreadknight is. Couldn't have put it just any better myself. It would have taken me a good page of writing to get the effect you got, lol

My sig is a real ingame pic of my Orc.

Never was a big fan of T.King's art work. His idea of the Shadow Knight / Dread Knight to me was just a Paladin with sharp and pointy armor....

Where is the scarred face, the menacing brow, the faint glow of demonic energy in his eyes, or this slight hint of despair that should surround him. That is all too shiny and perky... it needs a more sinister design to be accurate in my opinion.

NOTE: I am assuming this is T.King's work because the helmet he is wearing is nearly identical to the original class design replacements he did for EQ1's new custom UI back when Luclin launched. If it isn't his work, it is some one that heavily favors his design style or is outright copying his work.

Don't get me wrong bro, I think T.King's work is definitely top notch. The detail is superb, the design is nicely done. He compliments the proportions very well, and the over all quality of his 3-D work is just amazing.

My disdain of his work is in his concept of certain classes. The Shadow/Dread Knight that is portrayed above is just not very dark or dreadful to me. He just isn't very disturbing or frightening to me. As I said previously, to me it just seems too much like a Paladin with pointy armor. For one thing, as a Dread Knight or Shadow Knight, I would never wear armor that bright and shiny. Reflective plate just doesn't seem very dark to me. I think drab, matted colors of blacks, grays, and deep reds and blues are more to the niche than shiny silver.

The picture you posted is absolutely top draw, whether it is T.King or not, but it just doesn't say "Dark Lord of the Abyss" or even "Dread Knight" to me.

Of course that is just my opinion, and that is what makes life worth living... having some one to disagree with.
