Post Dread Knight styles

What is your favored fighting style? Do you rely on Fear, Dark Armor, teleport-and-backstab, what? Do you prefer fighting against groups or 1 on 1?

Please note that I'm not talking PvP or PvE alone. Whichever gaming style you use doesn't matter so much in this discussion.

Re: Dread Knight styles

A lot of the times I pull mobs with Torture. If need be, I'll use Devour Strength to lower their overall vitality which makes them easier to kill. After that, I spam my melee attacks until a critical comes, and obviously follow the chain. If, for some strange chance the mob decides to flee, I'll use my Shadowstep + Harrow macro, which normally lays 'em out cold.

Re: Dread Knight styles

I normally pull with devour strength, do torture after that, and if they're close enough and I'm not going to put myself in a bad position to get other aggro, I'll go ahead & shadow step/backstab, and then continue with melee attacks.......if it seems a strong opponent & shadow step is ready to go, I'll do it again cause it's just damn good fun, and the backstab takes a big chunk out of their hp

if the mob is out in the open and I won't aggro others, I'll sometimes start with the shadow step just to have fun and get a big hit right away.

a quick edit: if I do get aggro from 2 creatures and it seems like sure death, I'll fear one to try & work on the other, and if they come back before I kill the current, I'll fear them again

Yeah, if u ask me, DK are pretty cool so far. I like how they play compared to tanks in other games like WoW, GW, or L2.

Re: Dread Knight styles

My fighting style involves the traditional pull with Torture when fighting 1 on 1. If, however, I'm fighting a group I will cast Abyssal Chains to separate the two (Or three) from eachother so I can focus on one at a time with more ease. I generally just spam my two main melee abilities and make sure I cast the Dark Shield when its up. I preserve Shadow Step/Harrow until I've actually recieved some damage since that is, after all, its main purpose - healing.

I use Fear is some special situations, but normally I'm in a position where it will flee into its nearest allies and bring more. And of course if its PvP I'm unable to use Fear.

yeah, it's pretty tight - the Shadow Step spell teleports you behind the target, and you actually have to select a 2nd spell right after you click Shadow Step, so it's an instant attack when you click the 2nd one.

Shadow Step - lvl 10
Teleports you behind your opponent.
* You must activate this ability and choose which ability you would like to use after it in order to execute it.

Harrow I - lvl 8
Drains life equal to 200% of your melee damage plus 10 to 14 damage.
* Must be behind target.

BIG hit
