Hi , im from europe and as a consquence i didnt get to take part in the Beta. Trawling through the forums it seems Dread Knights arnt very popular. So if you took part in the Beta and played as a Dread Knight can you give me some information about what there like. Or if you also wish to post some questions your more than welcome.

Re: Dread Knights is there a point?
didn't get a chance to play in beta, but it was the first & only profession I've tried so far.
So far it's been pretty fun - they can take some hits as well as do some good damage. Most of it is about inflicting fear into your enemy, which makes them less accurate, therefore less damage to you. Level 10 you get a Fear spell that's pretty handy. Normally it's a pain to take on 2 enemies, so if I get in a bind where I'm taking on more than one, I'll fear one and focus on the other, and when he comes back, I'll fear the one I'm on and finish off the first one. They're quite popular on Hilsbury - see DK's all over the place. |

Re: Dread Knights is there a point?
My significant other is a Dread Knight, and when we duo for quests, he's very effective with my Necro for backup.
As a tank, he can take the hammering that the mobs dish out, and fears them when he needs a few seconds to recoup. If I accidentally pull a mob off him with my more powerful spells, he can regain its hate very quickly. It's definitely more of a grouping class, but an extremely effective one that can do solo quests with not much problem. |

Re: Dread Knights is there a point?
Well we got nerfed a bit from beta to release but I still love my Dread. Ever since UO I've been in love with the Tank-Mage and currently DKs are the closest too that.
Debuffs, DoTs, LifeTaps, Fear, & a nuke or 2 to go with Tanking, what more could you ask for?? I think the class gets especially fun at Lev 10 when you get Shadow Step. Seriously one of the sweetest abilities in-game.My one and only complaint is true for all melee classes and that's how endurance regen is done. I just HATE it. 20 END per tick but a tick only goes off after 2 seconds of you not doing any other ability that uses END. So you end up having to wait a lot, which is very annoying. I'd much rather they would make the ticks every 2 seconds period, none of this stop using abilities crap. Dreads with their spellcasting aren't as effected by this but it is still annoying IMO. |
