VF - Armor Sets-Names, Tiers, etc.

As an 18 Dreadknight, what armor sets should I be looking to collect? Also where could I find a list of armor sets, tiers, levels, etc?

This isn't like WoW in respect to armor sets. There are some crafter made things but at level 18 you're going to be changing armor a lot with quest armor. In about 4 levels though you can start the infineum line from Donovan in Donovans Roost, west of Agrham in Qalia.

But again this isn't like a WoW/Diablo set where the more peices you have the more abilities/stats are unlocked.

Also if you have trouble getting groups for the Infineum stuff later on there's some decent solo gear you can get from the River Valley quests near the same area

there is a class specific armor set in shrine of the sleeping moon area. it requires some heavy duty faction grinding however. each class gets their own set with their own stats. evil races need to faction about 3 times as much, it can take weeks to get the faction you need.

i havent been able to get any of the pieces yet, so i dont know what kind of stats is on them.

That armor quest pieces don't seem that good for the amount of work you'd have to put into it. The pieces are 'good', no doubt, but not great and there's definitely better for less work. Grinding up 15k faction isn't fun.

Imbued crafted armor is a good option as well. Most of my crafted gear is lvl 23 to 25 and that is the imbued tin series of armor. If you could find a blacksmith to make tier 3 I am sure it is ranked even higher as far as level.

You can also get just about any stat you want on the crafted gear as well (I can't seem to put Vit on the Qualia crafted stuff). It allows you to get very large bonuses on single stats. I am sure it doesn't compare with the long dungeon group quest stuff, but it can certainly hold you out while you are doing those quests.

Also anything above tier 2 (tin) has the continental bonus on it. I don't remember the specifics, but I know Qualia increases slashing, and I think some resists too. Each piece grows the effect so a full suit can get you quite a nice bonus.

Look for armor in the range of 20 to 27. I have diffrent kinds of heavy armor but it all look like it matches. Its all between 23 to 25 level.

Yeah, I am not so impressed with the gear/weapon laziness so far. While it's nice that I match, it's not very interesting having 90% of the gear look exactly the same based on level. level 1-10, 10-20, 20-30.

I have no idea what anyone else is wearing based on a cursory visual inspection but I can tell the tier/quality of their gear right away. Oh look a green chest piece he hasn't gotten a level 20+ upgrade yet....oh look a gold chest piece he is still wearing a 20-30 chest.

Green and blues of the approrpriate level range appear to all look the same. Yellow, orange look different it seems.

Doesn't invalidate your point, but my armor is all green and is all lvl 20+. Crafted imbued gear is green by default and is all over lvl 20.

But I agree, more armor models would be awesome.

Guessing they differentiated among the continents though since the styles are different. Thestran 20-30 crafted plate is all gold/brown that I have seen as well as the level 20ish drops.

I have completed quests or missives for almost 3 complete sets (did not see BPs for two of the sets) of gear in the 20s and it was all exaclty the same. They could at least change the color a little if the style is the same.

My favorite part about the armor though are the lighting/reflections on the gear.....they did a great job there. It's neat to pan the camera and watch the reflection of the moon off the armor change.
