Hijacking....threads
Ok, a comment was made that I do not know what Hijacking is. If im wrong, i admit it, but if im right....nyeh nyeh to a certain person.
So what exactly does hijacking a thread mean? The way i understand it, You turn the topic around and make it your own, going off topic right?

Re: Hijacking....threads
See, nice hijack! It's frustrating. Cold for a bit, then back to hot (normal).

Re: Hijacking....threads
When you do hijack someone's thread, you at least acknowledge it as stated as a matter of politeness. The other reason it keeps you look like a ragign moron for going so far afield when you started they were growing rhye and when you stopped they were growing rice
and these people who use needless esoteric (and sometimes inaccurate) metaphores in posts, what's up with that? If I wanted a bad dennis miller impression I'd watch dennis miller the other thing that really gets me, other than the weather in texas, is hamsters. I mean, what did they do to thier tails. mice, long tail, rat, long tail, gerbil chinchilla and any other decent rodent, long tail. But then comes hamsters looking all fru-fru with thier little bobbed tails thinking they are so chic. and really, who are they trying to impress with the fur coats? you've been hijacked, by two chicks & and old man in atlanta. t-shirts available in the lobby. |

Re: Hijacking....threads
I prefer the pack of cards. Got any of those?
Hijacks aren't so bad if, as said above, they're acknowledged... and if some attempt is made to stay on course in another part of one's reply. I'm afraid I have a digressive mind at the best of times, and thought A leads to B and C and Y (usually not via the rest of the alphabet), especially if a topic is wide-ranging and interesting. So-- omg is that a shiny? Shiny! *runs off*

Re: Hijacking....threads
SHINY?!?! I want a shiny.
I apologize if I hijack. I'm a very absent minded person and often times will go off on unrelated tangent. I personally, don't find hijacks that bad. But then again, I never care if things are on topic or off.

Re: Hijacking....threads
AHHHH !! Sorry, just gave me a EQ2 flashback, of getting agro or dying just to get that shiny in hopes that it completes your collection quest.
![]() Oh, and as to OP, hijacking a thread, or derailing one, is often not to bad as long as the OP has not asked for the thread to not be taken off topic. Of course there is always a bit of common courtesy that needs to be involved also. Posting about something unrelated in a "serious" thread can more often then not be seen as spamming, rather then hijacking. ![]()
