Yeah honestly not sure where most of the OP's stuff is coming from. Game looks amazing. And every time I see some new creature or find some beautiful area or outlook, I'm even more amazed.

But, like everyone else has said alread, 'To each their own.'

Not sure of what settings the OP is running, but at Highest performance the graphics are not all that stunning. Maybe that has something to do with their viewpoint.

Agreed.

If you set it to Highest Perf. and up the tree detail it helps, but my computer will need a serious upgrade to make the game pretty while I'm active/moving/fighting.

The only problem I have with the looks/graphics is the swimming. It is difficult to manipulate (I don't mean dealing with the currents) and looks stupid. In this regard it is far worse than wow. I also liked wows emotes better. However, in every other detail vanguard's graphics are better.
One suggestion devs - change character creation to allow for making old looking characters. I'd like to be able to create an old wizened wizard, not just a 21 yr old with white hair.

The swimming animation certainly is an issue. Like when a current is pulling you backwards, and you're doing the regular swim animation, but reversed and super fast.

Graphics are amazing indeed, if you've got it on at least Render Mode=4 and Detail Mode=3 in the .ini file. Gotta turn the tree distance all the way up, and you most definately HAVE TO have a graphics card that has Shader v3.0 support.

I have been saying this over and over in chat when someone else brings it up (and someone else always brings it up lol)

the game isnt finished. It wont be finished for (im guessing here) at least a year. If anyone doesnt like it now and is very disappointed, then go play another game that you enjoy better for a while.

Come back after whatever period of time you want and you WILL see a large difference.

Whether you still like the game then is entirely up to you....

Unfortunatly once people move on.. they move on!.. there are loads of new MMO's coming out in the next 6 months.

By the time an average wow player can afford to buy a system which can run vangaurd in all its beauty (or at least half of it) it will be way too late.

Kinda sucks, but, SoE made their decision.. and we must live with it. (or not)

SOE may be guilty of many crimes against humanity, but the graphics design decisions and other things that go into requiring a high-end computer for the game come from Sigil... SOE is just the distributer and not the game designer.
