The Golden Rules.
In an attempt to bring myself closer to Vanguard, I decided i would read on some of the peoples opinions and thoughts towards the first day of playing. I read alot of negative things, And alot of positive things. One of the main subjects i found was aimed towards Community. That's right folks, One of the key ingredients in making every gamers online experience just that more exciting. Since i know a large quantity of people are either new to Vanguard or somewhat new to MMOs in general, Or maybe even long time veterans to them, I found that a large portion of people tend to stir up problems which eventually leads to the downfall. I've done my research and this is what i've come up with.
As a long time MMO player, I've come to notice one of the main things that draw forth anger which eventually turns itself into a massacre of hate for those whom don't deserve it. Which brings me to rule number one.
1. Be considerate - That's right, As alot of you may think "I'm very considerate" that's good, I'm going to use an example. As i jog across to attack an enemy, Another player attacks it first, Which of course would frustrate me and i would imagine, alot of other people, Because nobody likes being stolen from. If you have just had your enemy stolen, As much as you may think that person stole it, They probably didn't i find alot of people begin there hate for people when something small happens that they have no control over. Be considerate, Remember that person is just trying to get ahead like you, And there will always be more so try your best not to /whisper that person with an arrogant message because believe it or not, It will have a huge depth on the community.
2. Helping - This is one of the biggest problems ever, Alot of people tend to ignore a person whom may need a couple minutes of there time, I myself enjoy helping to the maximum and can take hours of time for a small thing as long as it enhances another players experience. Remember, When your helping someone your not only helping them, But your advancing the community that person will carry on his happyness, And probably help someone. Pay it forward the community would be alot better if everyone was a family!
3. Ignoring - This brings to me to my next point, When i or anyone else i would imagine, Sit down at there computer they hope for the best possible experience, It's hard to operate properly when you have someone in chat yelling profanity or bad things at the entire community. I've seen this time and time again, Do your best NOT to say anything back, As much as you want to flame that person back for yelling rude comments, Just ignore them, Someone will deal with them soon enough and know that eventually that person will be regreting there hateful actions, But do your best to ignore them and not contribute to the hateful messages as it can get pretty heated when you have 20 people yelling at one person while he yells back, Then you have those whom yell at both parties for talking at all.
Alright that's all im going to write for now, I will research some more and post some more up, I undestand this post may seem sort of odd, But if those whom read it think about it when things like this happen, You may refrain yourself from adding to the anger. I hope i've made some people understand some things a little better because Vanguard should be a family and an excellent community and i hope i could benefit for some of you guys and girls!
