I do not greatly appreciate those slangs. But most of the time I do not bother much. I mean ... so many people are using it, there are some that I even corrected in the past but it seems to annoy people more than using these words, so I don't bother anymore.

True, I used to say something to people too but I got attacked for that more than anything. So now I just inwardly cringe and vent to my husband about it. He seems to find it hilarious when I do that, so I guess it's a good thing?

I never got the "kk" one myself.......the o & k are diagnol from eachother, it couldn't possible take that much more effort to press ok

as for "Kewl" now, does it only make things groovy, or can the icecube be kewl as well?

well, i say wewt everyonce in awhile, which means woot incase you couldnt figure that out, and use it to rhyme with loot, so ill be like wewt lewt!!! (and yes i know that they rhyme alrdy, but ive noticed some people pronounce them differently and clarification of sorts) i also use lewt in a sarcastic way; but thats not really about how it came to be as much as a way to mock people who focus solely on loot but im kinda getting off topic so im gonna stop now...

Ok, that is enough of that. I find these "alternate" spellings to be annoying, and the made up words (into which category I put "phat") an excuse for not using real ones. However, it was pointed out to me long ago that while I am in a game, I speak an entirely different language. Even between games, the language differs. Here is an example; try to guess the game. (Names edited to protect the guilty. No, I don't talk like this in any game.)

eyekillu: hc u come bc?
healerch1k: oo yea but i die la
eyekillu: no i use bc and rage on all
eyekillu: 1-2hit kills
healerch1k: kk but i hide

PS: Yes, those uses of "bc" are different.

anyway, all those who find such spellings to be annoying should...well, stop it...thats not a good way of saying it, but the point is that its just a spelling. Also, language changes, and although these spellings are by no means going to become part of the english language permanently, most likely because they are only written and are pronounced the same way as the words they are based on, they are english and a natural growth of the language to fit the needs of its users. so in closing, Relax
