Volunteering

Just curious if anyone here does any kind of volunteer work around where they live? What kind if its not too much to ask.

Cant say i do any volunteer work, i work full time and sometimes work requires home hours but its something i might end up doing at one point or another...gamers around the world unite and help mow that lawn thats overgrowing!

Two years ago, I volunteered at a hospital, City of Hope. I was basically an assistant to the volunteers director running errands, making spreadsheets on Excel, crunching numbers, and all that good stuff...

During college (2000-2004) I was Vice President of our campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity. It was as great fun and we got campus involvement in the local Habitat for Humanity builds. I will be returning to activity with H4H as soon as my daughter (10 months) is a bit older.

lol i did volenteering firefighter work a while back, but since i had my son i cant find the time working a full time job too.. so thats me ^^

I used to volunteer in an old people home (don't know the english proper word for it, in german it's "Altersheim").
Instead of going to the army I did some social stuff and kept on working there as a volunteer for 2 years.
When I moved and started studying I just didn't find the time to volunteer again. But it was a great feeling doing something good for old people, if you get the chance, try it!

I was a Little League and Soccor coach for a long time, and volunteered teaching at the kid's school the first year they were open. I've done CS work, as well, but now I'm here at SPheres and loving it.

I volunteered at Stratics for half a year, covering a French game pending release called "Dark and Light" - unfortunately, they weren't too successful and the game's hype is almost a negative force. I volunteer (originally) as a graphics designer at Vanguard Radio, but that soon turned into DJing on Friday nights.

It gets tough sometimes working ~50 hours a week in a full-time job, but I also volunteer for my country, serving in the Army Reserve and now the National Guard for three years. Five more to go!
