Nope I dont. I think he actually was a real person but I also think history glamourized his existance and situation as well. As for magic, I originally stated that I dont believe in it as I consider magic to be the tossing of fireballs and lightning. Dont get me wrong I'd love it if that existed but at least for now its just a figment of our imagination. As for some of the other categories that got lumped into magic throughout this thread, I believe in some and dont believe in others.

Pretty much the way I feel about it Also. I think It's more illusion then magik myself, but thats just me. As far as fireballs and ice comets no,lol. I think they sound cool as do most spells do but thats why we play a fantasy game.

This is why i started this thread, i wanted to see how people honestly felt about "magick" and the likes, believe in it or not, i was curious to see how people felt about it. Glad to see all of you state your opinions. Thanks!

First to be able to answer properly to the question,I will have to ask another question.How do you define Magick?

If we go the Mystical way most of the time it is associated to religious belief and surrounding those beliefs are sub groups who are opposed or who are partly in accordance to the say belief/Myths/Legends/superstition.As a former catholic,I witnessed some practice of Santeria or Semana Santa here in Mauritius and Mauritius is a multicultural melting pot with at least 4 religions and some minor cults.Every year the Tamoul society celebrate "Cavadee" where people walk on fire and embers(simply imagine you have to walk 5 mts on glowing pins) or they climb a ladder made of sharp swords,stick needles through their entire body.Is it Magick? I don`t think so but I do think that these people's beliefs are so strong that their mind shatters all physical restrictions.

If we go the scientific way,it is said that we use only one tenth of our brain and I`ve always asked myself what a person will be able to do if he was to use his full brain capabilities...Telekinesis,Pyrokinesis or Enterokinesis but until now none have been able to prove or demonstrate those powers.I do believe in positive and negative auras or forces and I also believe in the four Elements so all I can do is speculate that if we can master our full brain capabilites may be we will all be called Aes sedai and Ashaman.

i dont belive in magic... like disney magic and whatnot, but i belive there is something of the sort... hard to put my thaughts into words...
and i understand that magic tricks are "tricks" ^^

As a neuroscience student, I have to point out that this is actually a misconception.

We do only use one tenth or so of our brain at once, yes. Using 100% of our brain would kill us, due to the massive glucose requirements that would be beyond the ability of blood to provide, and the enormous heat generated inside your head. But over just one hour, most of the brain will be used at least once. After all, if we didn't use those parts of our brain at all, then we wouldn't have evolved to have them
