How's going guys ? game/IRL

Hello guys

I haven't being with this community for long, hoping that everyone would share a bit about themselves.

For about the last 5 years (I'm 26) I spend a LOT of time gaming, sometimes TOO MUCH. I didn't like being labelled a crazy anti-social "gamer", but I'm exactly like that some of the time. Anyway, it's kind of sad when I see others playing longer and more hardcore than me, are they doing ok IRL ?
So I'm trying to develop a PERSONALITY & INTEREST since last year.

I would call myself a semi-hardcore MMORPG fan, but sometime I got disappointed with the way people treat each other in game or on the forum.
The good time,sometimes were ruined when players behave like IDIOTS or game NERFs. Enthusiast and fans quit due to these

To me, playing game should be a healthy/fun hobby, a lot of conflict and bickering happens when different guild having flame wars.
Did they have issues IRL and trying to SCREAM about it online ?


How would you describe yourself relating to game/IRL ?

I am wondering what are you guys up to besides waiting for Vanguard to release ?

What did you do in the last few years ?

What are you planning to do later on this year ?

Lastly, as I type this, I believe if nobody could relate to what I was thinking, it would be a fact that I SPENT too on computers and should go outside more.

Haha, well... the thing is people are and will always be opinionated. It just so happens that the general majority are more willing to share their opinion over the internet than while standing in public where there's a face to their words.

To answer your questions:

How would you describe yourself relating to game/IRL ?
I only game during my free time, which sometimes is quite often. But I NEVER fall behind IRL just to play a game.

I am wondering what are you guys up to besides waiting for Vanguard to release ?
Just playing various games and trying to finish up college. Haha, actually making a game with the same engine Vanguard is using (although I don't have their heavy engine modifications)

What did you do in the last few years ?
Too much. Quit my job, went back to school, went between several MMORPG's back and forth among other things!

What are you planning to do later on this year ?
Play Vanguard!

Wow! You really ask some leading and deep questions, don't you?

I've played MMORPGs now for almost 6 years. My hubby played long before me (UO and other games) and my son got me interested in EQ. By the time he was 14, he'd already been playing for a year or more, I found out. Then my daughter started playing, too, so it was a family thing!

I really enjoy the social aspect, and my guild stressed togetherness and just having fun, as well as "keeping it clean" so people of any age would be able to enjoy each other. We even had parents ask if their kids could join us so they wouldn't have to worry, cuz their guilds weren't so careful!

The "crazy anti-social gamer" happens when all people see is the next level or weapon or zone they MUST attain to the exclusion of anything (family, work, school, church) else except that ^#@* puller that messed up and almost wiped the raid! He has no business being on the raid, to begin with, cuz he only plays 5 hours a week! What does he know? ...*sigh*... Yeah, well...."he" is a "she" and she has 3 kids, a husband, a full time job, part time school and those 5 hours a week are her recreation and vent time! Not to mention, she's actually the best puller on the server because she spent the past 3 years (not 3 months) getting that "uber" level and actually learning abilities and how her class should be played to the fullest, but, hey....it doesn't matter. She messed up!



Alright, so I'm getting carried away. Story of my life! But you get my drift! This is what people need to understand, tho, before they label people/other players.

I love new content and doing things, but I don't let it become my driving force. A good and healthy mix of social/explorer/achiever/killer is fun (yay, Bartle!)! IRL, I'm a mom, have a part-time job and a bunch of stuff. We all play something (or did) so it's not major if someone says they have a raid. And I don't exclude my kids. I usually only play at night, and they're a little big to have to give baths to, but my daughter does still like me to spend a few minutes with her at bedtime. When they were younger, I never played til around 10-ish, and that's a bit late for raiding. Church/family comes first...not the group I'm in, but I don't blow them off, either! I give them fair warning and leave when I need to.

So, that's what I'm up to, basically. And I'm filling my time pre-VSoH by keeping up with family, working, playing EQ still, reading the boards, chasing dogs...or is it chasing family and keeping up with the dogs?? hmm...

Later this year, just add VSoH to the mix, hopefully.

And yes, you do need to get outside more! The natural vitamin D from the sun helps metabolize the vitamins we take in so they can do their work. Full spectrum lighting will help, too, if you live in an area with little to no sun. Take vitamins that are good for YOU...not George downt he street...suplement with some herbs (find a good water based that has all the above) and fight depression, anxiety and all that other stuff caused by no sun and starring at a tube most of the time.

Ex-antisocial gamer. Wait no... more like antisocial ex-gamer. I can't find an MMO I like but MMOs have ruined single player games for me. Instead of spending 6 hours a day playing a game I spend 6 hours a day reading about games. >_<;

Remodeling my parents' house under the pretense of repairing damage from hurricane Wilma. Poured a concrete slab, erected a shed, built a fence, moved crap from the garage to the shed (or the garbage.) Thankfully they're getting professionals to knock down and put up walls and cabinets and lay new tile. Of course, they still want me to run ethernet, coax, telephone to different places in the house and replace the deck. Then paint, put up molding, move furniture... ;_;

What did you do in the last few years ?
Played DAoC for half a year, started flunking out of college. Played FFXI for a year, got a part time job work ing for my dad's best friend, finished flunking out of college then enrolled and dropped out of community college. Played WoW for 4 months and quit. Haven't played games in a more than a year. But, ever since January I've been working towards getting my MCSE and actually sticking to it and studying.

What are you planning to do later on this year ?
Get certified and get a job. And finally move out of my parents' house.

How would you describe yourself relating to game/IRL ?
ummm...well when there is a good game out (normally an mmo/multiplayer fps such as ut except ut is gettin boring since its so old) i play 4 hours or more on school days and alittle more on weekends (cause my parents are always telling me to do things and i think sigh...if i dont they are gonna blame it on the video games and im gonna be in a alot of trouble and then yeah....bad stuff happens, like no video games/computer at all )

generally hanging out surfing forums, reading fanfics(mainly naruto fanfics), playing assorted demos/free games cause well....they're free , and listening to RBF the whole time.

school...eq, eq2, ut2k4, and ummmm sleep

more of the same until vanguard and/or ut2k7 comes out tho atm im alittle worried that neither will be out for my summer vacation which would suck but i guess its not all that bad since my parents have PROMISED to put me to work this summer which sucks arse... working....its way to much work for my tastes

as im sure u can all tell i like video games ALOT but just so u all know IM NOT FAILING!!! (in school that is) I hate when my parents assume that when i do bad on something that its cause of my computer, i say that if i wasnt on my computer i wouldnt work any harder cause im just a lazy bastard who wouldnt mind laying around all day doing nothing so therefore video games are an improvement but for some reason my parents dont believe that...how surprising...
