Has anyone else seen this series? I didn’t catch it when it originally aired but I rented all of the DVDs from Blockbuster. I have to say it is great, quite possibly the best TV series I have ever watched. The mix of Sci-Fi and Western elements used to make this series work perfectly, creating its own unique atmosphere. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer but, nonetheless, Firefly blows it out of the water. For those of you who don’t know, Fox inexplicably cancelled the show which prompted the movie Serenity to continue this great story.
Has anyone else enjoyed this series? I highly recommend it. |

Re: Joss Whedon’s Firefly
I own the DVD set and Serenity and saw it twice in the theaters. Its a good series with some really great music that just puts me in a great mood. Sci-Fi has been rumored as a potential new home for the series. Hopefully it comes to light.

Re: Joss Whedon’s Firefly
I saw a few on Sci Fi and had to go out and get the DVD set. Great stories and loved Serenity when it came out at the theaters, so I bought that when it came out too. Hope it is picked up, definately want to see more....

Re: Joss Whedon’s Firefly
Yep. I am proud to say that I was there watching it when it first aired on TV, goshdarnit, and I've been a big fan since that day. Even own my own cunnin' hat (ignore the dorky smile...I was drunk on fandom that day)
![]() I'll admit I'm more a fan of the TV show than the movie, mostly because I prefer humor with a dash of action over action with a dash of humour. And they really crammed a lot more action into the movie. Was well done, but just not what I liked the best about the 'Verse. I watch www.whedonesque.com on a fairly regular basis, and so far it looks like the chances for any further tv or movie presence is pretty low, but the DVD *is* doing well, so hopes are not completely crushed. It has been said by Joss that there will be more canon books and comic books, at least. |
