Haha, i've almost done that posting while at college but the internet is so slow here, it's worse than dialup. It is a T1 but when hundreds of people are using it, haha!

I'm not familiar with these T# speeds - what's the Mb/s rate on a T1?

I'm on 2048 Mb/s shared between, uhm, five computers - but only three of us use it much and rarely does more than one of us download something at the same time - so my download speed is decent.

A T1 is about 2 megs upload and download. Between hundreds that would be insanely slow!

Edit: I am with Comcast mine is 6 megs down 786 up. I download like a bat out of hell but my upload is only about 80k

Well there's a big difference between megabit and megabyte. My Comcast connection is 5 megabits, but that doesn't even scratch the surface of a T1.

I want a fiber-optic connection, but sadly the required cables have not yet been deployed here - in Sweden they're far ahead of us at that, already covering a large area of the country with fiber-optics.

150 Mb/s sound good to you?

Actually, my phone lines were already fiber optic, which is why I couldn't get DSL and cable took forever to get in my area!
