I like vampires, vampire movies, etc but it just doesnt seem fantasy to me. Always came off more sci-fi but maybe thats because of influences like Blade and Underworld.

That said, I certainly think they'd fit into fantasy well in a traditional setting. However, I'd rather if players wouldn't have the option to be one unless the whole MMO was revolved around it

That's a good deal of superfluous coding, especially in a team-based game. Now, a whole PvP MMO based on the idea? Could be a cool thing. But my personal opinion leans towards having them remain NPCs.

That said, Nino recently gave up a lil tidbit in similar news recently.

It sounds like a descent idea but in my visions it would have to be its own game. In that game youd have the vampires, Werewolves, Zombies, Frankenwieners!! Thats just my thought I couldnt imagine trying to slap that all together in a regular fantasy MMO and have it be balanced and fair to all players. It is hard enough to balance with the regular classes I couldnt imagine throwing an off the wall race or class in there.

Well, you could balance a vampire in a game, you would just have to have everything else similiar in power. Such as if you're not a vampire, you can still tango with them, like all the movies in where ordinary humans still fight vampires and win.

I'm not making fun - at least that wasn't my intent - I just, as Greymain put it, think this guy is either excellent at roleplaying or a plain nutjob. Okay, maybe I was making fun... Whatever. Oh, and the on-topic part of the thread is cool, too - I just don't care all that much about that part.

Yeah, it'd be a huge balancing job - and because of this I doubt they'll add vampires, but who knows? On the other hand, they already said they're not trying to achieve perfect class balance...
