Re: Reading

LOL @ Rydella comment.

Let's see. I read U.S. News when I get it in the mail, and the New York Times twice a week. I should read it daily, but I'm usually too lazy to get out and buy one, and haven't gotten around to getting a subscription.

Most recent book I've read is Spare Parts, an account of a Marine reservist that fought during the first Gulf War. Good stuff. Me=Military Buff

Re: Reading

I get one paper a week and that is one too many. Here in the UK they are full of BS. I enjoyed both harry potter books and films. They may not be elegant prose but they are great page turners.

Re: Reading

The only "real" books I managed to read fully was the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Only gone through once myself, though I plan to read them again sometime soon, probably after I graduate from college in a few months.

Re: Reading

I recently saw the new wheel of time book and bought it (new to me its book 11) but I just cannot get through it. 10 books and 10,000 pages is just too much info to retain over a period of like 6 years. I can't remember who all these people are!

Re: Reading

Do you absolutely have to remember what happened in the previous book and any past characters to read a new one?

Re: Reading

If it were a tiny book I could muscle my way through it but 800 pages? Its a little difficult since I have no idea what is going on. There are about 10 major characters and 30 minor ones, and a bunch of cities that sound like people.
