Raya's Writing Workshop - Sun. Nov. 6 - 2pm EST

Raya’s Writing Workshop is a go for this Sunday, November 6th. Start time is 2pm Eastern. End time is slated for 3pm but may run over as much as half an hour. If you have to go at 3, that’s fine. I will send the additional stuff to you. For those that can stay, there will be hands-on help.

The main topic for the workshop is HOW TO FIND AND WRITE NEWS WHERE THERE IS NONE. Most of us Vanguard fansite writers have had a bit of experience doing this for quite some time. However, this will help you find even more news, and not just for Vanguard. If you aim to write for other publications, online or otherwise, this will help you get your Muse to let down her bounty.

If we have time, we will also touch on WRITING SPARKLING OPENERS AND BLURBS. We may have to carry this over to another workshop – but we will see how it goes.

Site Admins, please let your staff know that all AFFILIATED Vanguard Fansite staff members are welcome to attend this workshop, whether or not they are writers. It comes, in every fansite’s life, to a point where you have to press the coders and artists into writing duty as well. This will help them see that, although writing requires some kind of skill, all of us have that skill inside us. It’s just a question of letting it out and making it work for us.

WHO: All AFFILIATED Vanguard Fansite staff members.
WHAT: RAYA’S WRITING WORKSHOP – HOW TO FIND AND WRITE NEWS WHERE THERE IS NONE (possible bonus seminar – WRITING SPARKLING OPENERS AND BLURBS).
WHEN: Sunday, November 6, 2005, from 2pm Eastern to approx. 3 or 3:30 pm
WHERE: Raya’s Writing Room - note that you will need to register with a username and password to get in).
WHY: To offer writing help and support to writers of the Affiliated Vanguard Fansites.
COST: No charge to any permanent Affiliated Vanguard Fansite staff member. $5.00 to both Affiliated and non-Affiliated Vanguard Fansite forum members.

Thanks, Raya! I've done the same type thing, but everyone can benefit from listening to others' ideas. I hope to be there, as well!
