I'd better tell my husband that his Demand deck will get him nowhere. Fortunately I have a head start on diplomacy and my Gossip skills are l337.

Dentists commonly use the "It won't hurt a bit" card, costing inspire (flattery?) and taking reason away from the recipient... or something.

It works on my wife.

Pish! She just voluntarily fails her saving throw.

I'd have to show the spousal unit that line, except we have a dishwasher (and I don't mean him ).

So do we, but I always just wash them by hand for some reason. Probably because if I leave them in the sink, they'll bother me until I do something about them. If I just stick them in the dishwasher, I'll put it off until it's really bad.

Showers too, huh? It looks like, from the PotD, that your workplace is pretty swank!

I just hit civic diplomacy for the first time today, and I've got to say, I'm very impressed with how well laid out everything seems. Now, a question, if you think it prudent to answer; I'm curious about the "levers" - to get an item or a buff, if you had 5 diplomats all working the same lever and not failing, and no one working an opposing lever, about how long should it take them to accomplish their goal? Or would they not be able to beat the decay rate with so few people?

I'd LOVE to be able to set up diplomacy "raids" in guild.

Re: Hi folks

Five low skill diplomats can get a lever to 40 in about... 10 minutes, depending on the city-specific decay rate. We set these to be about that fast for a full group, and then recently made them a little easier.

Incidentally, a full-Presenced, Famous diplomat will be able to activate a lever in approximate five minutes by themselves.

Re: Hi folks

Just wanna say Welcome To VS and also to Thank you for all the work you and your team has put into Diplomacy. It's a refreshing change from the drudgery of XP grinding and Crafting Grinding. Though civic Diplo seems to have a bit of grinding itself. But the Dialog (lore) makes up for it IMO.
