Work Order rewards
I don't know about anybody else, but I *really* resent getting common resources in yellow bags. All that work and instead of a nice piece of gear I get a knotted timber that I could easily get with far less effort by walking over to a tree.
It's just wrong.

Re: Work Order rewards
This is one of the only times you will see me type this line...
"..Especially on test when gear is so desperately needed and in such short supply." i agree with you Flor, 100%. the disparagement of gear to WO rewards is huge and you can see it on test. i started my minerologist yesterday. I got three pieces of gear at 2nd level WO's. She is now working on 13/14(?) and she has gotten NOTHING else gear wise from WO's. It's not like I do anything other than batches and everything I turn in is b or greater quality and most of it has been dang near pristine for the last 8 hours or so... maybe I'm a little off topic, and for that I'm sorry - I blame 3 hours sleep since Friday as the culprit. at any rate - please remove the common crafting stuff from the high end rewards. Like Flor said, we'd rather cut down the darn tree or spend 5 cc on the supplies.

Re: Work Order rewards
I agree. But I'm on the fence, sorta.
I'm not sure if there really has been a significant change in the rewards lately (I certainly don't have enough data to tell - every time I start to feel really persecuted, I get something nice), but if you're not as good to begin with due to not having the gear you can't get good enough results to *get* the gear for good results - and so on round. On Test I'm consistently crafting about 3-5 levels below myself, so to speak - that is, my attributes and skills were in the 150-200 range when I was around level 22, modified to ~190-200 by what gear I could get (I was wearing the store bought level 20 stuff from levels 11-23). In comparison, my smith on live has attributes and stats in the 230s (modified, obviously) at that same level. I adjust my expectations accordingly now. However, my disappointment stems not so much from not having phat gear as from busting my backside to get work ordersto A for yellow packs and opening them to find 2 utilities and 3 bits of vendor trash. Eh, I dunno. I'm not sure what I'd suggest to change this, if anything, and I'm not sufficiently caffeinated yet. Even I (a compulsive box-opener) can understand that you can't give away really cool stuff every time, or you devalue said cool stuff. I don't quite understand, however, how my live crafter can do 8 WOs in a row and get 4 tools and 3 clothes (2 green 1 blue), in her 20s, while my crafter on test, also in her 20s, will slog through days to see anything other than trash. Luck of the draw, perhaps.

Re: Work Order rewards
Ysharros, just a thought. Are you ctafting in the same place on live and on test? I reread a Silius post from Feb. last night at Vanguardcrafters that basically said rewards tables are based on work order name which it seems is tied to the location.

Re: Work Order rewards
I was crafting in the same place, but not with the same professions - live lass is a weaponsmith, test lass is a leatherworker. I was wondering about that somewhat myself, though I also assume (dangerous, yeah) that surely some locations can't be *that* much better than others for rewards. The flip side of that is my LW got bugger-all in her stint at Southwatch, and started getting stuff when I went back to Fisher's Pen.
That being said, I suspect most of my bad luck is down to just that, bad luck. Also, with the live lass having been twinked in gear she couldn't get herself pretty much since she was level 15, she's been consistently doing higher-level WOs than the test-LW could ever hope to do (at least not to B or A), which most likely also explains the discrepancy in rewards. Most of my griping is, I'm pretty sure, entirely subjective. Since I didn't sit down and note all the rewards my gals have got for their WOs done, I don't have any hard data. And since I certainly don't believe the devs are out to screw us, the most likely answer is a combination of bad luck, perhaps slightly better tables in location A than B, and relative WO levels done. Last but not least, the test gal did way less work orders to get to 22 than the live lass did, since test crafting xp is so accelerated; I'm sure that plays a part in it too. Still, sometimes it's nice to get together with friends and say "JEEZ! This loot table hates me!!! Waaaah!" ![]()
