Crafters Table setup macro
For those of you who want to craft work orders but hate to have to set up your resources everytime, I have a macro you can use with just a push of a button.
Make a macro button on your toolbar (Right click on your toolbar) Name the macro Ex: Table Setup next in the main window of the macro box write this command sequence. /refineadditem Adhesive (Of course you will use your own type) /refineadditem Oil /refineadditem Bandages /refineadditem Water and so on until you have every resource you use starting with the most usable item to the most trivial. I always need Adhesive and Oil so they are top on the list. The when you open the recipe and it asks for the required resources just one click on the button Table Setup and its all filled in for you. have fun. |

Re: Crafters Table setup macro
Isn't there a limit to what you can add to the table?

Re: Crafters Table setup macro
There is, but once the table is full it ignores the rest of the macro.
![]() I still have separate buttons for my utilities, but that's personal preference. NOTE: the downside to adding utilities with macro commands is that when you first use it, it'll add whatever it deems is "first" in the bag, however it works that out. This means you can and will end up with partial stacks on the table instead of full stacks. After the first time though, it smartens up and will use full stacks unless you don't happen to have any. If there's a way round the above, I'd love to hear it. It's bitten me on the bum a few times. "Whaddaya mean I only have 8 fuel on the table?!?!?" ![]()

Re: Crafters Table setup macro
I have been using this technique for a week now and love it. My mineralogist (level 12) has 3 macros (cleaner based refines, solvent based refines, and finishing) and my leatherworker has two (cure based refines, everything else); they are ordered based on what is needed for the set of complications and their severity (I highly prize utilities to combat quality penalties).
BTW, we are starting lists of complications and remedies under Crafting Actions in the wiki (the blacksmith one hasn't been updated to the new format yet; but feel free to contribute to any of them).

Re: Crafters Table setup macro
I've been discovering the joys of these macros.
/craftingselectstep # Clicks the buttons on the crafting window. "/craftingselectstep 1" for example acts as a click on the first button (which on a work order will cause the "supplied resource" or "harvested resource" buttons to appear below the window). I have a hotbutton each for six steps on my main horizontal hotbar. When I get more steps, I can add more. /craftingselectaction # Clicks the buttons that appear below the crafting window. I have a hotbutton each for five actions on my numpad hotbar. When I get more actions, I can add more. This way, I can press 1 above the keyboard, click 1 or 2 on the numpad; then click 2 above the keyboard, click the appropriate number on the numpad; and so on. Really is giving my poor sore wrist a break! Play with it. Your mousing wrist will appreciate you! |

Re: Crafters Table setup macro
New twist on the thread - and this is asked more out of ignorance and wishing to be educated than out of an attempt to be inflammatory...
Sigil is cracking down on macro users. My assumption is that they mean those who macro to farm but I wonder... Does macroing to craft do the same thing? What about macroing to harvest? I'm getting into this sphere and I really like the idea of making it easier and not have to mouse around so much, but I really want to adhere to the *spirit* of the ELUA as well as the *letter* of it. Again, this is asked out of ignorance and a desire to be educated. so please, all feedback is accepted and very welcome

Now the other point, how bad it is to macro to get the crafting going in a less painful way (sometimes literally)? In this case it is not intended to cheat in the sense that instead of clicking the mouse you press a few keys. In this case you are not using a cheat to gain an advantage that is not intended in the game. Does this make sense? I mean for me the crafting macros are making crafting easier but you are still in the same place doing it and you were collecting all the material the good old fashion way of walking around and finding them (that's the intent i think), on the other hand using a macro to make it to detect something that you may not otherwise find is not cool for me. Hope that's clearer, if nopt maybe tomorrow I can rephrase after sleep.
