Once back settled at home (weekend I am hoping ) I will do just that! And thanks guys

Right now back in my office, Alex came home yesterday morning (Mon) but since I did not expect the timing (by far) alot at work is in the air with various projects and exchange parsers coming to due. I am in to see if there are any bugfixes to do (heheh) and on handing off work for the next week or so.

I will probably be off next week for my official paternity leave week (although, due to illness and unexpected delivery I have been off for the last week and day already)

Shinto - that's a great overall design plan, it helped me look at it the right way. I will try to do something similar but maybe first trying to PS angle vs station - but what do I know, won't be on the pc to think about it for a while yet.

Btw - ALL actions, for all stations are based on 'tool use'? I had assumed it was only tool using actions (and complications using tools) that were based off that and the other skills governed other actions. But I have not seen any affect new actions except Tools and since I got a new utility action when tools rose, I guess that's it.

Naw. Each section/subsection of a recipe is based on one of the three skills: station, tool or utilities. Bear with me here because what I see isn't always what other people see, especially in little icons.

The station section(s) look like a grindstone on a brownish background; the tool section(s) is a hammer thingy on a green background, and the utilities section(s) is a bottle on an orange background. (Yeah, this could be entirely inaccurate, but if nothing else they all look different.)

So your assumption was correct: only Tool actions use tools. Utility actions use... utilities, and station actions use nothing but bare skill (and the occasional kick).

As far as comps go, what gets used depends on the remedy, and the tooltip for said remedy should (for the most part) tell you what skill is used for any given one.

You getting a utilities action when tool skills rose *should* be impossible. Could you have been raising a parent skill at the same time and got actions from that (though that wouldn't be utility actions either...)? If not, I'd say that's a bug. Another option is if you were in one section but countering a complication with another type of action, that could have given you the appropriate points and new actions.

Yes, if you have logging turned on, you should be able to go back and see when you reached the threshold for the new tool actions. The log will actually list the new actions received when you reached that native action skill threshold (buffs from equipment don't count here).

So far I have never seen a utility or station action earned from a rise in tool skill.

Edit (and I have been watching closely to document this for the wiki).

Gotcha.

I thought I read all "new actions" (not steps in the build) are based on Tools skill (refine or finishing) - this seemed counter intuitive and unbalanced, so I am glad I merely misunderstood.

Any suspicions from memory I had about utils actions added when tools went up is 99.99999999% likely my horrific memory, espeically when not making note of it specifically then - so please, no one start thinking there is a bug about this - other than buggy memory
