/craftingselectstep X (X= which step it is in order from left to right)
/craftingselectaction X (ibid, this is the step they were talking about being careful about, in novice stuff you can just set up 3 extra buttons (2 for some crafts) to put your quality steps into the procedure and then just remember which buttons are to process the order and which improve the quality)

Check out this thread to get started. Note you will *not* be able to automate everything, but you can more or less halve the amount of clicking you have to do.

I'd just like to re-emphasize that there is no indication that this is a bug.

That it is a bug is an assumption, and one with no data. There is no randomness to the buttons, therefore the order has a definite cause. Nothing has been broken by this re-ordering. It is a logical step for discouraging botters, even if the cost is a minor inconvenience to legit crafters. I can see no logical reason to think that this is a bug.

I see your point Shinto, but I'm not sure how long it will discourage the dedicated cheaters. Looks like stuff was rearranged in a predictable way, which means once it's been recorded the botters won't be any worse off than they were.

Damn them anyway. If this *is* anti-bot measures then as usual the rest of us suffer for the selfishness of a few. Grrr.

Re: A Plea for Consistency in Action Ordering

I too play several crafters and i have noticed the inconsistency of the button placements. I have sent in a couple of bug reports but havent seen any kind of response as of yet.

of course since they are always stressing exactly what they want in bug reports the ones i sent probly went into the circular file....

That it is not a bug is based on an assumption, and one with no data. Randomness isn't the issue for me, rather it is bad user interface design. I am not at all sold by the notion that it is either a desirable or effective anti-botting defense. From my point of view it is just sloppy coding, something I would never have tolerated in any of the products I was involved with producing user interfaces for.
