Unhappy My eyes are bleeding

Ok I kind started this some what of a rant in a difrent thread and figured I should proly start my own.

The droped recipes are realy starting to get me angry today I spent well over 12hrs grinding out grade A batchs and still no drop.

One thing that I have noticed while grinding is that if I repeat a WO after it respawns on the list the drops I get from it are sh!t im talking 2-3 vendor trash items from a yellow pack.

I always seem to get the best drops from the first time I do the WO and after that dont get any thing good sept for once in a blue moon.

Im already to lvl 25.5 weaponsmith and am starting to think I may hit T4 and not see my upgrade recipe.

I did so many batchs today that I am now 2 gold richer from the rewards.

One other thing I noticed was at lvl 24 the taskmasters no longer had any yellow WOs and still dont at lvl 25. Is this normal?

Ok and one last thing from one of the batchs I did(it was a refining WO) I got a resonating CRYSTAL drop. Its a T4? maybe T5 item and I got it from a T3 WO I thoguht this wasnt supose to happen any more.
If its not supose to happen then maybe some thing is fked up with the loot table and im geting screwd on my drops cuz of it idk maybe im just reaching here.

Ok ima stop typing now cuz im nearly retarded from no sleep and staring at a crafting station all day

I won't join the rant, other than to say I've been avoiding hitting 21 with any of my crafters... I'm not sure I want to get into that whole "Oh crap, STILL no upgrade recipe" situation.

About the WOs though, you may be running out of them at your current location. Try hitting an outpost or one of the major cities like New Targonor or Ahgram.

Re: My eyes are bleeding

I can't give you anything but comfort, but I hope you're just a freak...no offense, and the drop rate isn't really that bad, it can't be across the board since other people do have the recipe(s).

I started a blacksmith so I could make the quest items out of hath. and now listening to this, I'm beginning to worry even that won't be possible if I don't get lucky

If anybody has any insight what a person can do to increase their chance to get the recipe drop rate, please post it, otherwise Stubby are going to be in front of the computer soon with my mom's bra on his head while we create the perfect woma--..wait wrong movie, um, while we spoon feed each other pablum and poop with extreme prejudice at anybody who comes near our cage..err crib.

Re: My eyes are bleeding

I'll join the rant and not give any 'light at the end of the tunnel' to people.

I've been in NT since hitting level 25.

I'm now in the next tier.

I have seen ONE recipe. And it was for firegrass recipes. Let me drive the irony to the point. I had already learned that recipe from the trainer.

How they have this drop thing set up is bogus. If I think too much about it, I want to stop crafting.

Re: My eyes are bleeding

The recipe drop from WO method was very poorly implemented. How about just giving us a rather difficult quest for these recipes?

Re: My eyes are bleeding

If there is a quest, and it is a Crafter-only quest - ie, doesn't need Adv/Dip etc, then everyone will have that recipe done deal. If you make it so Grade A requires, at MOST delays them a level or 2. If you make it A+ - slight more delay but that's it.

Now, not saying that isn't good - just pointing out that ANY quest to simply make items results in everyone having all recipes. If you want that, ask for that. It is still better than trainer giving it inasmuch as ppl need to make some effort but it certainly will not mean 'difficult' only 'delayed but certain'

Perhaps other concepts can be used from changing tables to adding to adv/dip 'drops' in addition - I am not going to try to brainstorm this for I have no clue if induction of the recipes is at the intended rate or not.

Re: My eyes are bleeding

That's the basic problem, Sigurd -- you can either make it exclusive OR everyone will have it. There's no middle ground, not where something the crafters consider essential is concerned. If it's gettable it WILL be got, no matter what the effort or how long it takes to get.

Still, ensuring exclusivity via a lottery for something that crafters *do* consider essential doesn't strike me as the best solution either. It may be that our perceptions are skewed, but then so are those of the adventurers who, past a certain level, want only the rare stuff ... which we need to "win" a lottery to be able to provide.

To create an apparent group of haves via a random system is, currently, only angering those who then see themselves as "have-nots". However, it may be very premature to judge this system -- in a few months there might be all the recipes we could ever want sitting on the broker, and it's only the bleeding-edge, right-at-implementation crafters who are seeing how nasty the system is when it's just got started. There seem to be issues with drops (some upgrades are almost common, others have almost never been seen) but again, it might be too soon to judge -- not to mention the fact that, with the crafting team so tight-lipped, we have very little real data to go on.

I understand that the crafting team have taken all manner of horrible flak in the last few months and that they may not want to have anything to do with the community. I would respectfully submit, however, that this hurts the rest of us who have tried to be rational and supportive and who, I would like to believe, remain in the majority.

Re: My eyes are bleeding

The problem here is that the upgrade recipe is essential to compete in the market. There is so much decent loot available that its just not worth the time to make stuff at the higher levels un-upgraded. I have to practically give blue items away.

The ability to make these is already limited by the rare and ultra rare components anyway.

In SWG there was a long involved quest to get RIS armor schematics that allowed you to make the best armor in game. To complete the quest required rare components and to actually craft the stuff afterwards also required rares. Doing the quest could take weeks and weeks to complete due to the rarity of one particular component.

Any armorsmith could do this quest and if they did they would be able to make the best stuff in game but due to the rarity of components it was very rare still - SWG knew the meaning of rare.

You didnt need to do this quest to compete in the market though. As long as you had good resources you could continue making composite and other armors and do well.

The difference in VG is the fact that loot is so available and its on par and many times better than crafted. A visit to the broker will show this.

Of course, I am comparing very different games, SWG was a "crafted is premier" game and VG is shaping up for the reverse.

So basically to compete with loot in VG you need the upgrade, otherwise you are making stuff to sell for a few silver profit.

Re: My eyes are bleeding

One of the points I was trying to make, Kreen (and didn't :\) was that if only our rare items even remotely compete, then something more basic might be wrong than just the rate of recipe drops. A couple of things I could think of would be:

-- there are WAY too many common drops off mobs (which is being discussed over at VG crafters), meaning there's very little point in crafters taking the time and money to make stuff people can sell variants of for 5x less money
-- these overly common drops don't sell for squat at vendors, so any halfway savvy player is going to broker them. That's not behaviour that can be condemned, that's just plain common sense: if a vendor will give me 24c for something I can sell to another player, via the broker, for 75c or even 2s, why on earth would I not do it?

In the meantime, crafters figure the equivalent common stuff they can make should sell for 5s, which is a fair price for their time and effort but isn't going to *ever* shift when there are hundreds of 2s similar items sitting on the broker.

I don't know if this issue scales with the tiers or whether it's different when you hit 25, 35 or even 45. Maybe by then we can compete -- though I suspect that if we do, it's only because the adventurer population at those brackets is commensurately smaller and there is therefore less junk on the broker.

Personally, though I enjoy crafting for its own sake, I would not spend 3 hours making stuff that won't sell when I could spend 3 hours looting stuff that will at basically no effort compared to the care I have to pour into crafting.

I'm already disconcerted to discover that many crafters don't take our own products seriously unless they're the rare version. Some of that is down to the crafter mentality and the barricades that have been erected in recent weeks... but not all.

I can't speak for levels 21 and up as I'm only level 18 armoursmith but I seem to remember I got my tin armour upgrade recipe pretty early on in my post specialization career.
