Re: Oh the joys of Cooking

I figured if you doubled the "house sites" turned 1/2 (or less) of them into farm sites, that would be plenty. The plot wouldn't have to be huge, and your harvest (node spawns) could be based upon your skill, --novice = 1 day for spawn, ...expert = 10 minutes, or any gradiant that would be balanced. ([personally I'd put a script in for a handyman you could "hire" to gather your harvest for you when you're off line, like the guards, but I doubt they'll do it).

I love the idea of a griffon ranch..(and yes according to both classic myth and gary gygax, horse meat is the favorite of both griffons and hippogriffs) err griffon rookery. the Quest to get your orginal eggs could be three days worth of thrill (and finding out who your friends are).

I seem to remember reading a dev comment about them putting in fishing! - seems like it would be pretty pointless to catch a fish if you cant cook it

Re: Oh the joys of Cooking

I would love to see cooking come in as a craft and perhaps fishing as a gathering profession.

i think that if they put in fishing it should be more eq-ish than eq2-ish,i liked that you could fish anywhere in the water, not just running around into you see a bunch of fish than harvesting 3 times and looking for more, also, diff fish being avaliable in diff bodies of water and rare fishes, perhaps even get fish sizes into it (perhaps bigger fish = more food when cooked?) or perhaps quality of fish (sick fishes dont help cooking quality but high quality fish start you at a higher quality in crafting, like using higher grade refines)

Re: Oh the joys of Cooking

I really would like fishing tbh, its a great way to pass the time and do something productive, about the only thing you can do now which is remotly relaxing is standing around in a remote place, invisible, waiting for enemy to appear so assasinate - thats a bit like fishing for people lol.

But yea, cooking would be great with some associated harvesting types!

Reaping for wheat, skinning for Meat, fishing for fish,...

aah but i think im dreaming now

Talking Re: Oh the joys of Cooking

i have a couple of toons with no trade yet, they have been waiting for baking and brewing. i would love it especially since people wouldn't be able to flood the market placed with used food as they do used armor.

that's one thing i miss about being a crafter on eq2, you had to attune crafted items in order to use them, basically like getting the armor fitted, that way the 8' 7" half giant over there couldn't sell his armor to the 4' 3" halfling next to him. it'd provide more market, and if they wanted to keep a way to get good money back from used armor, maybe they could add in reclaiming the mats from attuned items, and the attuned stuff could be listed as resources on the broker.
