Ahgram Artisan faction

Hi all,

I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to tell me where to get started with Ahgram Artisan faction? I can't get any WO's in the city itself it seems :| Is there some outpost or something near by that I need to start in? Thanks in advance

Re: Ahgram Artisan faction

If you can not get work from a regular taskmaster, one choice would be to see if you can get work from one of the npc trade guilds in town.

Atm, I cant recall the exact names, although i think one was "cabal dark knights" or something of the sort, another was something like "inventors society", or maybe it was league, not sure, look inside all the buildings, youll eventually come across these npcs.

While the faction given by these guilds is actually pretty good, this isnt going to be what one might call a consistant, or quick solution to gaining faction. The list of work orders are very shallow, and include the opposite specializations orders as well. Im not sure if these taskmasters have new work available as you level or not.

Be careful selecting these orders, abandoning any of them results in negative faction, although not a big hit, -10 was the biggest ive seen thus far. That said though, the easy and moderate orders really seemed easier than regular work orders of the same difficulty, where as the difficult ones were almost off the chart in how difficult they was, so again, be careful, and stick with the easys and mods unless getting a couple faction hits isnt an issue.

Can anyone explain what the obession is with getting crafting faction in Ahgram? I've been doing just fine with Lom'shir and Hathor Zhi, but I'm only an 11 tailor.

Re: Ahgram Artisan faction

In all fairness, I think calling this an obsession is a bit knee jerk. At level 11, youve just got the lid off the can of worms, now its time to actually dig in and see what things are all about. You are no doubt doing find in Hathor Zhi and Lomshir, because thats pretty much where you should have been up to this point.

If you havnt found out already, your just at the point where, if you want to progress into higher level recipes, and such, like making houses and boats and the like, your going to have to do some traveling.

There is not alot of information about Ahgram out there, so some folks have to ask, hence your perception of obsession. As far as why would they be concerned with this faction, or any other crafting faction, because many quests and recipes are not only tied to crafting level, but by continental crafting faction as well as town crafting faction. For example, there is a quest in Ahgram, called "tonic". Its not a crafting quest in terms of making items, but the reward is part crafting xp, part adv. xp, as well as a crafting ring and an expendable item. This quest requires an amount of ahgram crafting faction, the amount of which is still in debate with some, but I think its 25 faction.

Thats just one example, and never forget, with the game being so new, its not at all improbable that new content will be added to the game, in the form of quests and recipes, that most likely will require faction.

If I understand properly, the lvl 21 crafting quest (Apprentice?) starts here... which means if you aren't a native you have to travel there somehow, and then (again somehow) build enough faction to get said quest.

But once again since there are no real docs out there, all info is by rumor... not to mention subject to change as they tweak things.

Re: Ahgram Artisan faction

Wow... nice dissection of my word usage. I really just meant "why do I see so many threads with Ahgram faction?" But maybe I was unclear. I didn't mean "obsession" in the literal way.

Thanks for the answers though.

Re: Ahgram Artisan faction

Another point that should be mentioned.

I think that Sigil's intent is to have crafters become faction based, and therefore gain access to specific recipes at the cost of losing access to other recipes.

So I think there's a a lot of interest in the factions within the big cities.

Re: Ahgram Artisan faction

heh and yet another reason to talk about the place...

once you reach a certain level in crafting... you have to go to there or i think it's NT in order to continue raising your crafting as your home areas will no longer have WO's for you.

Re: Ahgram Artisan faction

I guess I'll rephrase my question since people aren't really answering it

Are there any outposts around Ahgram that have Taskmasters that give faction for Ahgram Artisans?

While I appreciate the feedback on how to get WO's in Ahgram from the various city guilds, I'm hoping to avoid these and just get straight ol' Ahgram Artisans faction. I've heard there's an outpost near Razam but I have been unable to locate it personally.

Does anyone have any info? Thanks!

Re: Ahgram Artisan faction

Sorry for the miscommunication folks.

Hitomi. From what im reading, you posted two questions. The first one, where to get started, I replied to, that is where you get started.

The second question, is the one I didnt answer. The answer to the second question is no, Im not aware of any "outpost", or any other area for that matter, that gives Ahgram artisans faction. This dosnt mean such a place dosnt exist, just that I have no knowledge of it, nor have I read, or even heard of anyone finding such a place.

As for the outpost near Razam, while it is indeed near Razam, its actually located in the Infineum Planes chunk, on the eastern side of the river. However, there isnt any Ahgram faction to be had there. What you do get, is Hathor Zhi faction, both regular and artisan, as well as the standard two continental faction.

So in summary, In order to get started fixing this faction, you need to either do the guild work orders, or get high enough to do the regular work orders. AFAIK, you dont have any other options.

However, as a long shot, I have not traveled to Donovans roost, or the Shidreth mining company, both located west and north west of Ahgram. It may be worth your time to check em out, dunno.

That cover it?
