now level 7 do i make recipies?

So far I've been making mangled leather and cloth bolts and have plenty of them.

I see lots of recipies for a arm pattern or a head pattern is it worth the effort and the cost of bolts of jute to make these items and what use are they.

I see i'm only 1 level from trying to make jute bags so should I save my jute for the bags?

Also the actual patterns seem to require a 4 step process.

Step 1 make the jute
Step 2 make the mangled leather
Step 3 make leather linings
Step 4 make the finished pattern.

Even jute clothing seems to require leather linings so does this mean I have to level up leatherworking anyway even if i want to do tailoring?

Also is there anyone who wears cloth armour? Since clerics are allowed to wear heavy armour?

I just wonder why they put the recipies in if they aren't meant to be used?

Re: now level 7 do i make recipies?

The jute pattern recipes are to make finished cloth armor for spell casters (sorcerers, druids, psionicists, and necromancers). The lining is made with your outfitting skill, not leatherworking, and if you are going the tailor route, you really don't need to level it at all (I just set the minus on the leatherworking skill control and ignore it).

As far as is it worth the cost of the jute and the dusts, it depends on the market on your server. Take a look on the broker and see what things are going for, ask around. If this game is like most I have played, the serious armor market doesn't set in until tier 2 since people go through tier 1 so fast.

I might also suggest learning to harvest jute. There are usually safe areas for jute near the starting towns; it is only with the higher tiers that harvesting gets dangerous for the pure crafter.

Yup my jute and cotton harvesting is going great. you are right about the leather but you still have to make mangled bundles which require leatherworking for the lining.

I'm going to make them all as it's fun to see finished items and the WO are getting boring so it will be nice to have something at the end of it.

Re: now level 7 do i make recipies?

basically

cloth armour:

jute bolts 2

attuned jute bolts 2(with whatever attribute you want)

rugged leather lining 1 (made from premade mangled leather bundles 2)

leather armour:

mangled leather bundles 2

attuned mangled leather bundles 2

woven cloth padding 1 (same as for the rugged leather, only jute)

chest pieces at level 10, require 2x as much leather and jute both attuned and non-attuned.

and of course this raised when you go up to the ratty leather, cotton after level 11
