Continental Style
Continental Style
I'll be updating this as I go along. This is just like a FYI of miscellaneous posts that I've read in one nice place Thanks for all for the information. So, I've always been confused about this and wanted to make a clear post regarding this. What is Continental Style? Each of the three continents in Telon have their own 'style' for crafters. Each style is unique and different. Thestra - Elemental Qalia - Mind Kojani Style - +Piercing, +Mental Spell Damage, + Physical Spell Damage Things you need to know: - You need 2 sets of faction to effectively get the continental style. - You need at least 100 of continental artisan faction - unconfirmed I've ran into an intersting issue. I couldn't learn recipes from the BC trainers (they're somewhat close to Southwall). I decided to grind some faction up and once I hit 100 with the BC Artisans, I was able to access the recipes from the crafting advisor in Southwall as well as the trainer in BC. If someone else could confirm this, that'd be awesome. I was KoS to the dwarfs and grinded my faction for that off mobs so I had very little Artisan faction.- You will also need to perform the amateur artisan (if you're over level 11 crafting level) to learn the T1 recipes. Otherwise, you will just have access to the very basic (levels 1-10) recipes of that continent. - The quest itself sends you to the 3 main 'masters' on the continent. This may lead you to places where you are KoS. If so, you will need to grind faction up. This can be done crafting at outposts, or grinding through mobs. Currently, the KoS line is 251 for MOST races. - The Quest requires you to make items. At crafting level 9, they were impossible. At 12, it was relatively easy to get a C grade item. Getting a D grade item will create a 'failed' item for the quest. Therefore, I recommend the quests after level 11. This will also allow you to do the tier quest at the same time. - After 'completing' the continental quest, the quest giver will give you 2 additional quests to complete to learn the specific 'style' of the continent. For example, Artificers get a 'Thestran Jewelry' quest as well as a 'Thestran Elemental Focus' quest. - Completing the quest doesn't mean that you have access to the recipes yet. You have to grind up to 100 Artisan faction for access to them. Luckily, the Continental Style Quest will net you 50 Artisan faction which is a nice Bones. At 100, you learn the 'basic' non-tier recipes, but you can also travel and start the Tier quest (see above). - Each Tier (both at home and abroad) require the corresponding Artisan faction. So if you want to learn the Kojani Style T1 recipes, you must have at least 100 faction with the Kojani Artisans. Likewise, if you want to learn the Thestran T1 recipes, you must have 100 Thestran Artist Faction. You also need the corresponding faction for the town you want to learn the recipes in. Tier 1 - 100 Faction, Tier 2 - 200 Faction, Tier 3 - 300 Faction, etc.- Artisan Faction is MUCH easier to grind at outposts. If you're doing WO's in a city (besides the initial level up phase), you're just hurting yourself. Once you're 10ish or 11ish (I recommend 11 to get the tier quest out of the way), you should be leveling at an outpost. - There are rumors of Faction/city specific recipes. I have not seen or heard of these. Last edited by sorkvir : 02-15-2007 at 10:39 PM. |

Re: Continental Style
This would make a nice addition to the Wiki. If you want me to I can move it over and "wikify" it for you. Once there, it will be easy to edit and extend.

Re: Continental Style
I was thinking of throwing it on the Wiki, but I kinda had one concern, the links are really added on all the pages too often. For example, that outpost crafting like I can't seem to find a link for it on any of the wiki pages...

Quote:
As far as "outpost crafting", there is no page by that title. There is a Crafting Faction Table page that gives some info about outposts if that's what you are after. Keep in mind that this Wiki very new and many aspects of the game have not been covered yet. Also, the navigation logic is still a work in progress. But, there is a strong argument for adding more information to the Wiki -- it has a snowball effect: the more info we add, the more useful it becomes, and the more people want to add additional information.
