Quick harvesting skill raise...tons of resources!
Has this been covered yet? Not sure. Don't harp on me that I'm too lazy to look. Anyhow so I was running a quest outside leth nurae in the arcanium and I noticed that when I right clicked to loot this creature, instead of saying there was no loot, or that I didn't have the skill in harvesting to do it (skinning usually) I pull out my hammer and start chipping away. Then I thought about it, those treants, lvl 9 or so all outside of leth near the rez alter. And I found heaven. They are a mix of barbed and weakened wood, easy kills. Me and another player grouped up and went to work, within an hour of swapping each harvest drop we ended up with about 20 timbers (400 logs) and enough skill (from 50) to harvest the barbed logs (which we also go about 8 timbers (160 logs))
Inside the arcanium there is a room (with the mediators for the quest, if you've done it) that you can run back and forth between the two guardians by the time you've killed one, quarried the basalt, the other has respawned. On the opposite side of the room there are two more, these quarry to slate for when you raise that level up (bring a book unless you want to stop learning your skills as you quarry). Hope this helps some of you guys with quick resourcing and skill raising. Having multiple people help you is amazing how much more you actually get. Now if only I could get recipes in leth nurae...guess my faction is too low maybe...hope it's just a bug.

Re: Quick harvesting skill raise...tons of resources!
If you're not a high elf, your faction may indeed be too low - recipes are faction-driven now. If you *are* a high elf, I seem to recall Silius saying something back before the end of beta about certain recipes needing faction even if you *are* a local - the bow recipe for artificers, for instance.
On the bright side, doing work orders raises that pretty quickly. I just hope we don't need thousands of faction points for basic items. ![]() As for the treants - they're a great source of wood in the LN area generally, which in my experience is otherwise poorer in wood than other places (e.g. the Lomshir area). I've only hit the level 9 ones south of LN so far.

Re: Quick harvesting skill raise...tons of resources!
yeh they're only level 9 in the general LF area, however at level 9 they render both weakened and barbed log types. Im a half elf in the leth nurae area, so my faction may indeed be too low. I'll just continue to do work orders until i get it up. Could you do me a favor and check your faction with the LF crafters i would like to compare it with mine. As of right now i cant get even the most basic recipe, it just says that they have nothing to teach me.

Sorry I can't be too specific but once you get into areas with mobs 10+ cotton is all over the place. For example, I'm DE and at the camps around the Beacon of "something" there is a couple of good areas of cotton. Can't so exact locations as I cannot be online right now.
