Mineralogist make houses, jewelry and stone focus's
Carpenters make boats, weapons and wood focus's Harvesting skills: Carpentry Quarying - you get gems from this for jewelry making. at level 10/11 you are given the quest that makes you choose between Mineralogist or Carpenter.
