What Am I Missing?

I'm trying to become an outfitter. I did the "tutorial" quests and got my starter recipes. Now I find there's nothing I can make. The two leather recipes in particular have me baffled.

They both require "mangled bundles" (for raw materials I think), but I can't for the life of me find anyone with a clue what "mangled bundles" are, how they are made or where they can be procured.

I've seen work orders for "mangled" items suggesting that mangled is just a quality descriptor. No bundles, though.

I have harvested lots of strips and made them into hide and have made max stacks of 20 hides to see if that was it, but no help. I'm totally stuck and can't find a mention of "mangled bundles" anywhere on any site.

I don't know what level you get the "mangled bundles" recipe, since I usually grind work orders until level 7 or 8 or so.

When you have it, it will show up at a outfitter refining table (I think I have that right). You make all your bundles and then go to the finishing table to complete the item.

What if the mangled hides are the bundles? *shrugs* just a thought

Mangled bundles are what you get when you process mangled hides (1 for 1) on a refining table. The refining recipe may not be available till level 4 or so - if things haven't changed, the recipes a trainer has for you should be visible even if you're not high enough level to train them.

Remember that there are two basic processes in crafting, refining and finishing. (Apologies for the reiteration if you already knew this.)

Note also that the Jute Cloth ... bundle? whatever it's called - that you can make will require the same refining table and Jute Bales made from harvested Jute sheaves.

Now, if you knew all of this and *still* can't see the recipes you need, and they aren't available to train, then there may still be a bug. It was there at the end of beta and though they were officially squished, you know bugs... they'll still be there at the end of the world.
