What do you hope you can craft?

Have you ever wondered why you couldn't craft something in game? Something that you can loot off mobs or buy off merchants?

I play bards. I may have other classes but there usually mules or scouts.
I really hope I can craft instruments. Brass may have to be done by a blacksmith and maybe some type of voice mod made by a stonecutter...You get the idea.

I really hope I can. The idea that I could possibly craft a legendary item and it just happens to be a percussion instrument sends me spinning.

What would you like to craft that you haven't been able to in other games?
Do you want to breed war horses? Maybe being able to breed combat pets. We have diplomacy that is very similar to Magic: The Gathering in the game, Why not Pokeman? Maybe you want to be a hairstylist.

This can be anything that would fit in a fantasy world.

Interesting concept Raolinx. I've never thought about it but you're right, you should be able to craft instruments. Personally I'd like to be able to design my own houses. Not like the architect in SWG, but really setup a floorplan, add wood textures for the inside and outside of the home, the whole nine yards.

Yes I agree Set up a foor plan in a spesified grid. Or at least a good number of options per style. Its already been mentioned that we will be able to decorate our homes. Similar to SWG. I'd like to see it taken further than that however. Wall placement, Outside and inside wall texturing, Of course it will cost more to use masonry rather than sticks and mud. And if you want more than just white washed stone it will cost more.

I"m such a geek for this kind of stuff! I love architectural design...landscaping, the whole thing!

Horse breeding...wow....hadn't thought about that, but it would make sense! Then the game could depend on players to perpetuate the animals given. Just would have to be careful for the idiots out there that would be jerks about it!

You could sell directly to the public but I think it would be better if you sold to a merchant to refill his stocks. That way People won't get suprised by a lemon. Or a way to verify horse stats at the point of purchase.

Would be a blast to build a home tile by tile. Always loved all the crazy things people came up with using common items and perspective in UO. Something we could see in an expansion years from now.

Otherwise high quality Arms and Armor. I really think this ability helps create a better community. Much less likely to have the "haves" and "have nots" along with the drama that creates

I would like to be able to build siege weapons, just for the fun of it, lol. Have a ballista in my front yard, with a catapult or two around it, lol. I think that would be pretty cool. But more serious, i think the house and instrument ideas sound good, with the house would you want it to just be made as you do each part, or would you rather have it so you decide upon something and your given a date of when that part of the work will be done, and it would be like real life were you have to wait for the construction to finish before you can move on to the next part of the house. I think that would be cool, for serious players it would really help them get deeper into the game, what do you guys think?

i would like to make a building with an open front and put my forge, anvil, etc..., maybe a woodcrafting station in there. I dont/havent liked the way you had to buy a regular house and put a forge it it - just doesnt set right. I always wanted to make my own tools too, be they big or small - that would be nice.

every single person that has replied to this thread would have loved UO back in the day, you could make everything or do anything that has been mentioned here so far (except for the seige stuff)

I have always wanted to be able to create barding and such for my mounts so that would be cool imo.

I am really into the idea of the RTS city building stuff in this realm. The seige equipment as mentioned earlier would be a very cool thing to be able to build and hopefully use in game to me as well. Could you just imagine having the ability to create such equipment and war with anothers city, beseiging it and having war with each other? That would be neat. Or possibly being able to actively have war with mob encampments of some sort?

Could you imagine how cool it would be to see a mob encampment and with the help of a few player ran communities be able to create seige weaponry and then lay seige as a group to the mob encampment? Talk about player created content! Wow that would be cool.

And lest we even go into how totally cool it would be for crafters to be able to create cannons and such to add to your ships to upgrade them for sea warfare? How cool would all that be as well.....
