What do you hope you can craft?

Well from some of the things ive Read ALOT of this Might just be Possible.
As Far as Crafting something goes,
Id Love to be able to make Everything that Drops in the Game..
not just so i could get Rich or anything like that, I think it would Put a Stop to the Farmers being able to take over the Economy.
I posted this Somewhere before but ive lost my Password i suppose or simply Forgotten where i posted it.
But I believe that a Crafter with enough Power should be able to make BETTER stuff than what drops as well.
Also,Our items that we make should be able to be Repaired ONLY by the Person who makes it,Unless he Wishes to SELL THAT right to say a Higher Blacksmith/Chanter/Imbuing, That way the Original Person gets the Credit.and that should be Offered in XP Crafting gain or Plat/gold.
I know it probally doesnt make any sense but its whats Blowing around in this empty space i call my head.

Then they would just grind at crafting untill they were maxed out and then sell the items on the net for in game plat.

I see your Point BUT i should have Added this DONT MAKE IT EASY TO DO SO.
meaning yea you have to Grind at Crafting,im going too just to see what i will be able to make.
But dont make it so easy that everyone can do it (make in game items as in Drops)
those are things you would have to travel for and learn,these things take Time.

The best items in game should be crafted, useing rare compenents collected from mobs or harvesting (or possibly a combo of both). I like the idea of creating a rare piece of armor or weapon that plays can use. I would like to be able to mark it so everyone knows who made it also.

i just hope they have woodworking = D i loove woodworking, and blacksmithing. also since you mention bards, the last game i played ffxi i was a bard and you can only have string and wind instruments. vanguard HAS to have a more veried selection than that... it was downright lame!

but yes, some form of carpentry for making house peices and other various stuff is what im looking foreward to

Well, Pel, there going to have Blacksmithing. That much is pretty much guaranteed from the things I have read. As far as Woodworking goes...

That part of the Wiki says that handles Woodworking. All in all I think you'll be okay with the woodworking part. Now... what you can create with the stuff is still in question, hehe.

ya i just looked up the crafting stuff a while back and didnt see woodworking = / as long as there is some woodish stuff i can craft in... blacksmithing? or something i dont know, but who is gonna make all the boxes and chairs and tables and stools if there is no woodworking! lol im sure ill like it either way ^^

Well that is the info on Smithing at the moment; honestly? I'd just wait for the Open Beta and people start posting recipes and stuff, but from what Silky Venom has listed on their site it does seem Artificing encompases a lot of what you're looking for.

hmm what do you think they mean by "building components" ? are they perhaps refering to some carpentry stuff there? hmm i dont know bout that but ya, artificing says right there in the wiki that it handles woodworking too... seems kinda weird to me tho seems when i think of artificing i dont think of woodworking... i think of like... gagetry or something.. but hey as long as its in there ^^ thanks etrigan, i might as well just wait for open beta to find out for sure, only a monthish away, not too long
