Probably the most interesting thing I am finding about professions is that you will be able to combine them to create an object... ships and so on. I am not one for tradeskilling but that does peak my interest.

I like this feature in tradeskilling. No longer will there be the few master tradeskillers who spend hours on end every day to eventually control the tradeskill economy. With the creation of ships (and weapons?), we may see several crafters working together to reach a final project with less chance of failure and time wasted. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how most of this tradeskill feature will work, but I, for one, am looking forward to the opportunities that it will bring.

A group of friends and I are already deciding what we want to do and will probably pursue building our first ship. If the devs do give druids a weather altering ability that will increase ship speed etc. like they mentioned, I will build my ship and travel the seas as a pirate. Yaar.

Yes being a ship captain would be very cool. I'd love to have to stock a massive ship up and have the entire guild board it so we can sail to our next raid.

I have been Carpenter on EQ2
Is woodworker a general class like in EQ2 with sub-class like carpenter, woody .....?
......Or Woodworker will do both woodweapons and furnitures(and boat etc....) ?

The current system utilizes specializations instead of sub-classes. How it works is you will choose one of these crafting professions and will get access to a basic list of items. You then need to pick a type of product you want to specialize in to get the more advanced recipes. The plan is you get one specialization AND one general crafting profession. They decided to do this so crafters werent entirely dependant on other crafters for their subcomponents.

I've just realised that there is one major omission in the tradeskill professions - Provisioner/Baker! Gotty has always been involved in food production in his various incarnations (mainly as he's a Halfling and eats most of what he makes!) and I'm a little disappointed to find it not available. But I'm not giving up hope yet as the Alchemist sounds like a good option for a little ol' Druid to take as a tradeskill

A little question:
Is there some infos on crafting spells focus and vehicles ?
As a gnome i wanna look into technology crafting ! For the moment i dont find a lot about it. Someone as more infos ?
Will trade some gnomish cookies for theses ! lol
