Thanks to Tranjor, I had a good run of 5 discoveries all within 20 minutes of each other, and no ill effects.
My motherboard has 2 NiC's. I disabled NiC 2, and left #1 with the port forwarding on it up... Will see about how well it does in the long run, but after 2 discoveries like clockwork in that dungeon, crashing me, then going to a clear run of 5... It's looking mighty good. Back when I first built this box I was playing EQ1 and the forceware drivers would crash or otherwise bug out the game, so I removed them, and the load balancing of the software went too. so, conflict city apparently.
