Yeah, har, we got hit coming and going.

If you're a crafter -- WOs producing empty loot windows, real recipes producing empty loot windows (OUCH!), WOs requiring unknown items, WOs requiring tools that don't exist, WOs giving no CXP.

The mail went postal and ate my stuff.

And then of course we had the infamous Night of the Living Dead Tombstones. But then, it was more like the Night and Next Day and Day After That of the Living Dead Tombstones. Some people got hit by it repeatedly (poor Rhazes!).

Has anybody actually been able to log in?

Not yet -- I just posted a client log on Pol's thread on the issue (mainly because said thread is in "Bugs" and she's right, that's where it should be).

As for the Unspecified Time Of The Living Dead -- you have to account for sequels!

Well, I'm no code-monkey (the sight of it makes my eyes cross -- I'm a liberal arts student dammit! ) but even I can see there seems to be a trend here. Hopefully this will at least help to pinpoint what's going on.

Patience may be required -- it's Saturday morning, relatively early Saturday morning at that on the West Coast, and I guess even Devs need their double-espresso shots in order to function, assuming the poor sods are even at work on a weekend (I sort of hope not, but I suspect they are). Speaking of which, I'll have a latte.

Ignore the ship mesh and editor.u warning messages, they were in my logs yesterday as well, and I had no trouble then.

Comparing today's VGclient.log to last night's successful logins (contained in VGclient.archive.log) it appears everything at the client end is fine, no surprise since everyone can login, patch, and get to char select, but then is locked out. After all the local initialization, trouble seems to begin after the client is welcomed by server, and your current chunk plus 8 surrounding chunks are all brought up for play. During those steps I see the KInitActorDynamics: No Model errors (at different times for different chars by the way, may be tied to specific chunks?). After the 9 chunks are declared up for play (Initial level load complete) the good log from yesterday and the borked log of today diverge.

Good log (yesterday) sends join, receives Network message from DevNet that client was joined and away we go.

Bad log (today) also sends join, receives network message from DevNet that client was joined, but immediately (same timestamp to the second as the join) gets an info message Browse: loading_screen.vgr and two more infos stating that loading screen is up for play...

I suspect something at Sony's End. Anyone have their phone number, maybe it's time to change the hamsters in the server room...

Out of curiosity -- anyone playing EQ2, SWG, or other SOE product today and getting the same problem? Someone mentioned the same problem on EQ and it's got me wondering, after what Corlin just pointed out.

Looks bad for playing till one of the devs happens to try and log on. I posted over on the technical support forum but, its not really their thing to help the test server. Not sure they even can.

I really wish this hadnt been moved to bugs. It isnt a bug, The server is dead.

Ya its just the test server. I think it melted down after a night of more and more database and zone issues.
