The Vanguard weather/cloud system seems like a great place to point out how Vanguard is a 3rd generation MMO. Prior to it all I can recall ever seeing of weather behavior is a loud crack of thunder and suddenly it was pouring in EQ. WoW's weather system wasnt much better. I really hope they get thunder and lightning and even varying degrees of rain density into Vanguard and looking right. It will make a world of difference.
normally I just turn the weather off if it's an option anyway. I don't have the fastest computer in the world either though.

I want the job of the forcaster in Kojan....
<clears throat>
And, today we expect to see rain, followed by more rain tonight, and possibly a moment of sunlight after dawn tomorrow, with more rain in the forecast for the rest of the week.

You should apply with Vanguard Radio as a weatherperson At least it'd be a funny skit.

The fact that there was mist in the morning in a small valley in Maplelynn forest blew me away.

I'm still trying to decide weather to focus on Adventuring or weather to focus on Diplomacy or weather to focus on Crafting.....

Sorry, Someone had to say it.

Re: Weather Do we need forcasters?

right before an expansion they should destroy a city with a natural disaster. Like a hurricane could hit khla then a couple weeks later have an event that rebuilds the city and changes it completely. Add a new faction into the works that helped assist in the rebuilding of the city. haha we should design the game around weather!

Re: Weather Do we need forcasters?

I hope they end up doing a lot more with weather. I also would absolutely LOVE to see them add seasons to the game. I have never played a game with them but I think it would just rock to have them.

Re: Weather Do we need forcasters?

Asheron's Call used to have very basic seasons, and I miss them. During the RL (northern hemisphere ) winter months, much of the game world was blanketed in snow.

I've seen kinda-sorta snow in Eastern Thestra, but it's very light (could be my gfx settings though?) and it doesn't stick to the ground. LOTRO has the same sort of effect. For me, if it doesn't stick, it didn't happen.
