So are we gonna equip instruments in full groups?

I only played to level 9 in open beta (1 no-weap attack that I could recall) and I never equipped anything other than a lute and drum.

I also never had a full group in a the few days of pre-10 open beta.

Did anyone find at higher levels that they benefitted the group most by equipping instruments during melee? Was there enough to do when you did?

Darn sure when solo, equipping a drum and passing horses was nice. Couple that with the wood elf bards unique 'save your butt 50% runspeed buff' (racial buff good for a minute, 20 min reuse) and it was really nice to be really fast again.

I duel wield so I carried my Insturments in my back pack , Wether you need equip an insturment to work or work better uring release we will soon find out.
I hope you still can use the effects of your song without equiping , loose alot om dmg as a meele char. if you do.

Ah, the base (free in beta) instruments had a 1.80 modifier. I suspect, at some point, with a complicated full-featured (composed) song, where just singing is costing you mana, you may be more effective with instruments and using whatever voice casts you have, vs dual wielding.

However, you are right, we do decent dps dw'ing.

IMO, I think they need to add an additional slot for your instrument to be equipped into. The amount of dps a bard does is way to much to not be able to work within the group. If we're restrained by making us equip either or, then we'll fall by the wayside as dps in groups. My only other guess is, That eventually you will get weapons that are also instruments like Eq1 had. that would be a big help for this problem.

I think it'd be better to have weapon instruments rather than equiping instruments and weapons at the same time.

Unless you folks know how to play a flute and stab someone in the chest at the same time

imo i think if bard get an extra slot for instrument ppls would get a brd instead of a rouge in grp because bard can buff and alot dps that would be a bit unbalanced dont u think? why would ppls have a rouge in grp then?
