The progressive servers, Combine and Sleeper, have been up for exactly one week. The world of Norrath has come alive in a way that surprised even SOE, I'm sure! Who would have thought that 500 people would be running thru GFay in search of illusive mobs needed to begin the...

Re: Everquesting Progressivly

In regards to Everquest in particular I cant say I do. There have been a couple patches released for other games specifically addressing dual core issues but since I havent played EQ1 for 3 years Im not up on my tech support for that game. Sorry.

Re: Everquesting Progressivly

I was told that it may be because of a duel processor glitch, I'm not sure. i bought an asus mother board and only bought a single processor when i did. the amd 4400. Maybe I'm mistaken with what i'm using but i dont beleive i have duel processors. Anywho, I would reall love to get on this new server and test it out for a bit. I'm bored with EQ2 and I hate WoW and I would like to go back to the old school. Any help would be nice. By the way i have pci express with 2 cards. For the record it is only EQ that i have this problem with, not any of the other games I play.
I remember a friend of mine having this exact same problem a year or so ago. He had to add a switch to the shortcut that started EverQuest. The switch would cause EQ to load using only one processor. I wish I could find the post and give you the exact, but it looks like the post is gone.

EDIT - Ahhh, I missed your last post. Glad you found the fix.

find EverQuest.exe and right click on it

select Set affinity and thn make sure it is set to one core or the other.

To everyone else, Ex Umbris is a Vanguard pre-release guild but we also have a chapter on the EQ Progression Server combine, look us up if you want a group

Re: Everquesting Progressivly

I am in one of the largest guilds on The Combine, one of the Progression servers of EverQuest. (no a hard core-raiding guild).
The population has had quite a big decline in the past 2 months.
Hardly ever more than 50 people in PoK.

Re: Everquesting Progressivly

We all had such high hopes. Again, they messed up!

They should have had all their "uberness's" (like FoH et al) go to one server and duke it out for the top and leave those of us who wanted to take our time and have fun without the bot screaming at us everytime someone killed a particular mob. Who cares?? Especially after the first 10 times?!??!!!

Oh well...onward, I say.
