Editorial - Beta 1 lurking?

Had anyone noticed that the lack of information coming from Sigil of late was....deafening?

Brad was answering posts here and there, and that is great to see! It meant the Team was still interested in what's going on and knows they need to continue the interaction with potential players! I'm sure that everyone here prays this trend will continue as a casual, informal way to gather/impart information thru the entire run of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes!

Pirotess mentioned to me that this "dry spell" is even dryer than the last and I thought a moment and respond that I believed we're about to hear more about Beta1 in the near future...no (tm)!

Think about it: When an employee is griping non-stop, the employer knows everything's normal, but when that same employee gets quiet, everyone knows something is up, right? When a doctor is talking to you about your malady, it's all good and there is something he can do, but when he gets quiet, you start shaking in your boots. Correct? Or when your baby is fussing and crying or laughing and banging on the crip/door/floor/whatever, at least you know what's going on. But, the second he/she gets quiet for any length of time.....yup.....a whole can of baby powder covering the area and all you see are 2 bright, blue eyes staring at you with a cheesy grin (and yes, this comes from experience! )

SO...the Team was quiet. Information scarce. The forums a mish-mash of hash and rehash and people starting to get on each other's nerves. After 3 years or so, it's to be expected.

Umm.....but wait....WHAT is to be "expected"????

There is a change in the air. The temperature is dropping and the sun isn't as bright as it rises in the east. Normal change of season on the planet Earth (unless you're in an area that's going into summer, of course). We have a time of holidays coming....time when there are more vacation days given and taken and more time for.....for.....

Whoa.....TIME!!!

Vacation = Time = GAMER'S DELIGHT!!!

So, while this was all speculation to begin with, if you looked at the facts (and no, not those little things that have been extinct 1 million years...) what conclusion would you have drawn??

I know mine! I'm a patient person, and honestly, I'm having a struggle within myself to know if I would really want to play beta. Sometimes, knowing what to expect can take the edge off the surprise of a first glimpse. That's why I also suggested in one of my posts that perhaps an "alternate" starting point and features be used in the actual release so everyone can get that feeling.

But then again......

Tick...tick...tick...4 hours goes by

Sigil Games Online has entered Phase 1 of our Beta Program! And, as promised, our Community Members will have the first opportunity to apply for it!

We will begin sending out emails today to everyone that has registered on our forum through today with an invitation to apply for Beta 1. Follow the instructions in the email and you are on your way!

Once you have submitted your application, your name will be added to our list of potential Beta participants. Qualified applicants will be selected for the program and added gradually, as we need more and more players throughout the course of Beta.

Please remember that this is an invitation to apply for Beta. If you qualify and are selected at any stage, you will be notified.

So check your email and submit your application! I am sure I will see many of you in Beta soon! We have been looking forward to this for a long time!
