Military MMO Players

It has been awhile since I was able to even login to Vanguard Spheres. It seems like just yesterday I was in Brad's office watching him demo Vanguard for us, just 3 days later I was deployed.

Re: The MMO and the Military

I have the utmost respect for those who have enlisted in the Armed Services of this great country. I encourage any guild to support your local Army, Airforce, Navy, Marrines who are in your ranks.

I have had many fantastic personal experiances grouping with members of the US Marrines. Man you guys know how to get the job done ! I pity the fools who come up upon the wrong end of a bunch of you guys. I am proud of all you guys for the sacrifices you guys and gals freely give protecting our country's freedoms.

Re: The MMO and the Military

Nice post.
I have a certain jalousy against military for their exemplary organisation and mentality
You will do the job i am sure of it like Max said.
Personny i have raid with some US army people in EQ and we have win against boss in some conditions where other didnt. That forced me the respect lol I was really happy to see i was alive I remember a raid in plane who was the worst i have ever done and we have survive. Reason theses 3 US army guys in our rank saying .. never come back .. let use this strategy and fight ! Lol the first time i see the place i was ( like most of my friends) - really scarred .. Theses 3 fools .. NEVER ! lol
After the win we were all oocing : we win ! we win ! But i remember well the guys saying : dont shout friends .. some other who have loose need to be respected too.
Thats how i play now and its cause of this fools army friends

/hug at Melchizedek !

Myrrdyn, that is a wonderful post!

That philosophy is so important to many areas of life, and game is no different! We all learn and many times from someone we least expect! And being humble is a great attribute and something I've always tried to teach. Even those who have tried and lost still want to feel success and a little proud when they do finally make it!

Thank you so much.

Re: The MMO and the Military

I've had two noteworthy experiences with the true warriors of games.

First was when I started playing Americas Army. To make it short but sweet the real infantry made it very clear that there was more to FPS games than taking everybody out Rambo style.

The second was when I ran a Warcraft III clan. We had a very skilled member who had enlisted in the Navy and he would log on everyday and play, then one day he was just gone. Turns out he went to training or w/e and when he got back he just wasn't interested in computer games anymore.

Re: The MMO and the Military

Wow, I just learned something new. I had no idea that playing MMOs can be that difficult when deployed - but then again, I don't know squat about the military, much less the American one.
