So your a mace/maul type of man eh? To be honest, as a DK I want either a nasty looking on hander and sheild for tanking...or a a two handed war hammer....those are great.

I have always been a big fan of the tried and true; Longsword and Shield. I know it is generic, but things only become generic if they work.

Either a broadsword or a mace plus a medium sized steel shield. Add a two handed sword for offtanking, then I am set.

I was wondering, is there gonna be a color code of some kind for normal equipment/weapons. Rare ones, epic and such?

There sure is, I am running off memory here, but I think I got it.
White = Mundane (common) Green = Uncommon Blue = Rare Orange = Heroic Red = Legendary I am not 100% certain if there is anything between Heroic and Rare, but I do remember hearing that Rare is normal / solo boss loots (read as 2/3DOT named+) and Heroic will be very very rare to find outside of raids (read as: 2+ groups or 5DOT+), and legendary is raid only (read as: 4 groups or 6DOT). Don't quote me on that, I remember having a debate about this on the Vanguard forums a while back and it could have changed, or it could have been completely wrong since a DEV never approved its accuracy.

Well thanks for the quick get back...I was just seeing if a system of that nature was in place or not. or if they were gonna use system of class/racial specific weapons/armor sets. Thats Xero

Well I prefer the Bastard sword myself like Conan uses. Versatile enough to be used with an shield for added protection while fighting, or used with two hands to smite your foes in one cleave.
As for in game. Around lvl 9 I got the [VISIONARY AXE]lvl 16 "YELLOW" 1Hnded slashing, used it to lvl 18 till I got the Hakarim Ancestral Blade,lvl 27 "blue" which is helping me with my shield now.

You know I used to be a sword guy... then I looked around the internet and gathered info... now I'm an axe/warhammer/mace person. Swords are just plain pointless against a decent armor. Only a suicidal idiot would have picked a sword to fight a heavily armored opponent.
As a matter of fact knights had it as their prefered weapon cause it was most effective against unarmored rebelling peasants  .Basically I have been converted to axewielder (just like the song from Stormwarrior :wink: ), on that note I also found out axes truly are crushing weapons :shock: . The theory apparanetly is to focus crushingpower in an edgeshaped weapon, really effective as proven how it cleaves and dents armor that could stop a crossbowbolt and even an early muskets bullet :shock: . Anyway looking forward to cleaving skulls when I finally get the game tomorrow (I swear Belgium is the most retarded country for gaming...) |
