Will there be racial bonuses on weapons?

Since there are weapons in-game, like swords and axes and maces etc.
Is it a possibility that there will be racial bonuses to these weapons? And are there some weapons that only that race can use? :?

As for your question, and to get the discussion back on track, I don't know if there will be racial bonuses to weapons - the dev team have said that the racial bonuses will not be all that significant. However, it would be very cool if, say, Dwarves were more effective with axes than swords... somehow an axe fits a Dwarf better than a sword does

on the subject at hand - i don't really see there being any racial specific weapons really. bonuses sure maybe, but likely not much difference overall.

cool idea (though not likely to be used) - different races holding weapons differently. heck, a 2h sword for a dwarf isn't quite that big for a lesser giant now is it? I'm not saying that the 2h be changed, just the way its held. like the dwarf may take a gring on the blade itself (via a blade guard like in braveheart) whereas the LG would simply hold the hilt as normal.

Cool! Thanks guys for the insight. But on the race weapon/skill subject i think it would be cool if(famous last words >,<) like a lesser giant could go berzerk and rip up a tree or something or the Vulmane get a skill like cannabalize like WOW undead... i dont know i just figured there might be some distinct differences in races besides looks.

i'm sure there will be racial abilites, though they've said that they won't be a big diference overall. early on they may be ok, but i doubt race will mean much aside from some stats and looks. who knows though?

With all this "not a big difference" talk when speaking of races and classes, they have me worried.

I really really really hope the game will end up being basically 4 classes, and race only being a means of telling the difference between characters...

one of the things stressed by the dev team, is that even though there are only 4 base class "types" , each class itself wil have a distinctly different flavor and play style. Also, though they have the same job, they all have certain things within that job that they will be better at.

for instance, while both the warrior and the paladin are Tanks, the paladin will excel at holding off undead, and providing protection for himself and his group. While the warrior is great at keeping the mob's attention and keeping the mob stunned, dizzy, or otherwise hampered.

so even though there will only be 4 jobs, each class will be very different from the others. race will make a difference I'm sure, but it likely won't make much of a difference aside from looks. early on in levels maybe, but down the road I'm thinking any lacking one race may have compred to another can be made up with gear and skill.

just to add, the developerrs have said though that "a gnome will never be as strong as a lesser giant" (or words to that effect), though that was some time ago...
