Combat push
Whenever you see people fight in real life, do they ever just stand on their two feet and never move? Combat push is basically that every attack you do creates a very small push to your target, and to yourself if you are being beat on. So if you have two or more people beating on another target, they should be slightly pushed backwards during the cause of the fight, making you have to be on your toes and follow on your target. Or you can even out the push with your team mates and make your target stay more or less still.
In my opinion one of the things that really makes a difference between mashing buttons and not mashing buttons, is if the combat is more than stand still and hit the buttons you need in the order needed. If you have to adjust, pay attention where your target is and so on, it makes a whole new thing to understand and learn and improve, to combat. That also means that if you have several mobs beating on you, you should be pushed backwards. Right now, you place yourself in front of the mob, you just stop thinking about moving keys for a minute while you hit your selected order of buttons 1 to = until you either kill your target and can move on, or you have to run away or die. Why is this a feature rarely seen in MMO's these days? What are the cons for having such a system? Please understand that I have not seen anything higher than level 15, I realize there are certain abilities that improve as you move around, frontal, flank, behind etc in addition to the weakness system. However imo it does not replace the need to adjust during combat, it could just as well work together with combat push and make it even more interesting, and something more to master. One of the things that appealed to me with Vanguard, and later on the Disciple, was that it was a game, that was supposed to be a game that was actually somewhat difficult to play, and to master. Is it now? -Zanthia |

Re: Combat push
EQ had combat push. I remimber the way to defeat some the Higher Level Casters was to push him around. That way he would lose his spell. It was suttle, but could make or break a pull. It's also why you would see ALOT of Main Raid Tanks in a connor, so they don't get pushed all over the place. That and to stop Frontal AoE spells from hitting the raid. It added alot of fun to the game.

Re: Combat push
Combat push/bash/toss is something critters do to me. I'm not so sure I can do it back without casting something that does it. My blade doesn't seem to push them anywhere. I wouldn't mind having it, but then that's only one aspect of the game. What about fighting a critter/mob/monster/humanoid within shouting/seeing distance of each other and they don't come and help their buddy? There are hundreds of small things that are out there. I would like the big things fixed first.
