skill advancement rate
I just started a new character and noticed that the skill-up rates on combat skills may have been made too fast. I was able to raise my basic weapon type and weapon skills from 10 to 20 in 2 solo fights; to me that seems too fast.
I don't know if it slows down at later levels, but there should be a sense of accomplishment and character growth in getting skills to max.

Re: skill advancement rate
I assume this is due to the new skill-up on fail code? Maybe they can tweak it so you still have a chance to skill up but just not so huge a chance. I can see how trying to raise a whole new weapon skill at 20 or 30 could become something of a chore otherwise.

Re: skill advancement rate
What they need to do is scale is so the farther your skill is from max the faster it skills up as it gets closer to max it will slow down.
For example if current skill is <10% of max 90% chance of skill up. then do 20/80 30/70 etc rather than base it solely on your level. |

Re: skill advancement rate
I like it because when I get a weapon that I haven't used yet, I am able to bring it's skill up to speed in a relatively short period of time. It doesn't appear that the weapon skill is having any real affect on my damage output anyway. Just 2 or 3 points per hit. Just an opinion though.

Going to have to make a monk or disc again to see if this is still happening, and how and when.
