Diplo Cry for help!
So, I'm a giant diplomacy newbie, but recently, I've not had the desire to level, and the content has been boring me. So, I've hit up diplomacy! I was doing the quest line for diplo in Khal. Started with the traders, port authority, vizier, vizier's lover, then got a diplo horse and did a bunch of courier missions, all the way to dark horse downs in lomshir plains. Got a nice camel belt from a quest there, but I think the last guy told me something without giving me a quest, because I didn't have any chain quests after that. So now I've been stuck without anything to do but civic diplo, which I don't think is helping me, unless I'm missing something. Anybody want to point me in the right direction? I looked on VGTact a bit but couldn't find anything for my particular predicament.

Re: Diplo Cry for help!
Once you have done the Horse quest you are pretty much done with the hand holding. Civic Diplomacy is what you should be doing until you have worked up enough presence to do some of the first quests. VGtact is probably your best source for information. Check out the DiploWiki for in-depth details.

Re: Diplo Cry for help!
After the newbie quest lines, there are some quests which you can find here:
http://www.vgtact.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page Many of those quests give new cards and they have varying presence requirements. You might not find all the quests listed there, so check the recent patch notes. There were some 12 presence quests added last week. The devs have mentioned some other content to fill the gap from 40-150, but no details yet. Right now, it's just civic dip and quests. Writs should be going in soon which will start at skill 150. Your best bet is to get a couple quests and work on presence with one or two stations by doing civic parleys with NPCs of those stations. As you win parleys your presence will increase and you will earn information for turn ins. The more turn ins you do, the more gear you will get and the more presence you will get from the gear for all stations. |

Re: Diplo Cry for help!
My question to you is, how do I raise my presence besides from the equipment department? I've grinded some civic diplomacy, but that doesn't seem to be doing anything for me. I've come across a few quests here and there, but I won't have the required presense. =(

Finding NPCs to parley with is a trick, we are starting to develop lists of NPCs in the Wiki: Civic Diplomacy NPCs, but there is a lot of work still to do.

www.vsoh-diplo.de Aegis, it takes anywhere from 5-12 successful parleys against one station to earn a point of presence with that station. There are some places where it takes more than 12, like in Tursh, but that is not intended. If you find other places like that you should /bug it. The rate at which you earn presence is based on your margin of victory. For example, I was working in Tursh the other day and it took me 24 wins while doing Clergy interviews to get a point of Clergy presence. Obviously that is bugged, but I wasn't winning those parleys by as much as I could have. After that I tweaked my strategy and was able to get my next point in only 9 parleys. Tursh is the only place I know of that is bugged like that though, so if you are working there you might want to try BC or LN. |

Re: Diplo Cry for help!
Presence should go up by one point per 7 parleys if you keep winning the parleys.
The trick I've found is to find 3~4 NPC's of the presence you want to increase in and that you know that you can beat that are in the same area and rotate through them. Yes, its tedious. I do believe that equipment is the best way to go. I'd check the broker and look for inexpensive presence items there.

Re: Diplo Cry for help!
Thanks for all your awesome input. Going to go grind me some civic diplomacy now. That is, until I get jumped by some unsuspecting shadows that overlook my 4 digit infamy =O Thanks again!
