The Diplo quest in Kojan... gives the info bag reward:

1. Is it something you need to swap out to use a belt with presence, I assume it is and I am worried you >cannot< swap it out if it is HOLDING info items. A specific belt item which is not UBER (and if it is UBER it is a waste since we all must get it and therefore it is as if whatever those stats are they are 'part' of the char and not really a 'bonus' - plus even if uber, it will not stay uber ;P) with never be use since we usually need all the pres we can get still (maybe diff at 300s+?) and even if most times do not have to wear a stat belt, when do - if cannot unequip a full info belt, then we must have room for the info which semi-defeats the urpose since the space must be theorectically available at all times...

2. Is it only available in Kojan or is there an 'equivalant' quest in Thestra/Qalia?

Unrelated, when I was in Black horse Downs, I did 3 quests (as of 3 patches ago when first added) I recall the last one I did was the woman sending me to interact with the yellow scorp guy outside town. Box of Jitters or something.

However, after reviewing patch notes it seems there were FOUR quests there, one "Taming the Beast" had a second part added in the Feb15 patch - only I do not recall seeing this Taming quest - anyone recall where it is found/who gives and the 'general' gist of what you are asked to do or told to see if I just spaced and already completed it late one night? I don't want to travel there just to look again since I am not near the area atm

I have to admit I was confused by the item-holding belt from the Kojan quest (was very happy about the faction hits though!)...especially having completed 3 other quests for which the reward was a +presence belt. While I still agree that we need something like this, it seems it would have been better for it to have been a separate slot like crafters have..especially since gear for several diplo slots arent even available yet. This is really going to hurt the 'mid-range' folks...beginner diplomats arent going to have enough presence for it to matter, and in theory at least, high-skill folks wont need presence in that slot...so the only people that are really getting hurt by this are those that will be doing these quests in the first place.. It just seems odd.

the slot sucks.... but i love the pouch.. 24 slots to cram with info!

very easy quest as well... but my diplo is almost 70 now

note: you have to have 15 i believe it was noble.. i had to borrow a necklace from wum

In a future patch (aiming for next one with content upgrades) we're increasing all Ear and Foot items in tiers 1 and 2 to a new standard to compensate for any loss in Presence this item will cause.

Also, we're looking into alternative solutions for adding a slot. We're already getting art at some point to fix the shoulder slot being at the bottom of the paperdoll for Diplomacy.

Thanks on that update Aruspex.

I can understand how 'redistributing points' to ear/feet would make up for the lost presence potential of the belt slot. My issue now, is that it will still be an issue in >perception< at least since some of our quests have awarded nice belt items. I know I have a +18Academic or Outsider belt. I have only ever gotten 2 earrings on turn ins (mainly I had blackmail in multitude so that resulted in alot of vendor trash and the annoying glut of one time clickies for a point of this or that, this is annoying to ME - but that is because of my nature-> I hold on to expendables until I absolutely need them... which means they clutter my storage - but as I said, I know that's my fault), shoes I've gotten like 6 (some quests, I think)

I doubt the earrings will make up for the belt I had, the shoes might though since I seem to be able to get mults of those.

What MIGHT be better, for perception, is that you take existing 'belt' items and convert them all to other slot items for the initial pass - therefore no one feels the 'loss' of an existing 'great' belt and prepares them with some initial items for use until they find / win the newly adjusted shoes/earrings which carry more presence if I understood your current ideas.

Therefore, the belt would become simply an item to hold info and instead of adding presence to them, in the future - upgrades might give +skill (only affects the initial points maybe? or the min to parlay only etc) +Expression (like the +1 demand gloves - which, btw, you could have theorectically one like +3 demand, -2 Inspire that starts you with 3 and them with 2 inspire etc) perhaps some stats like +str (lol for carrying all the clothes!) or better +weight allowance (so it doesn't overly benefit only melee classes) or with clicky effects like +speed buff (timed or charged) for the courier diplomant etc etc... it would make people forget about the 'old belts'

Obviously not talkign about all that on the Dip10 belts, just general thoughts.

To be honest, I'd rather they take the pouch out entirely until it can be (properly) implemented rather that disrupt what amounts to half of the diplomacy gearset. I find it hard to believe that it easier to do that than add a bag slot for it to the diplo ui.

I'd guess it is a database issue. Hopefully not a 'coding' issue, because if it was - they coded without extensibility in mind. Which is why I doubt SERIOUSLY that they physically CANNOT do it - just probably don't want to do it for other reasons.

It is, however, likely that it would have an as of yet undetermined affect on storage/bandwidth and they are being cautious (commendable) etc OR it HAS been already determined to have some such negative impact (blows, but what is...is and we move on.)

If it is the former, we may see a bag of some sort in the future. If it is the latter, we will continue to see tweaks to the belt system because the Sigil Devs/Designers are trying their best to kick butt with this MMO and are doing so far a great job imo.

PS... Sulkano, I hope you washed those Domestic Pants before you put them up on the broker... I bought them and if they have any 'suspicious' stains, I'm gonna sic Scraggles on you!!!

As far as the rest goes, I agree with you that they are indeed doing a good job so far with the game...which is also the reason this bugs me so much. The quick addition of this belt-pouch is in response to folks clamoring for more space to store thier diplomacy stuff...but in adding it they largely invalidated the quest rewards already in the game, at least one of which (Neamsong) had just been added in the patch previous to this one...giving the new quest a 'slapped together' feel, which is something I'd hoped never to see in this game.

Speaking of Neamsong...

I did a couple quests there. One I got from a constable and when reading it (endearments) I was killed. He was yellow and giving a quest at the time.

Now I was looking on web to see if there are future pres reqs in the line, so I didn't see that he in fact was my killer but he was right in front of me and no one else was there a sec after my death.

So I ease at max range and try to take the quest, it keeps closing on me, after I hit ok but b4 accept. So I tried closer and eventualy hit and miss got it.

I went accross and did it (again max range and fast moving between now orange guards*) returned fast hand in.

Then noticed between those 2 guards LOW Constable Tierky? Teipy? or something fast pacing as if stuck on the stairs (no 'stuck' thing though)

He was red. He was in range to kill me I think on stairs and I WAS killed in one shot so he COULD have run right back but my experience is mobs after killing you, linger.

So I tried to get the quests that are in the first bunker by swimminhg back, using the accellerator and talking from the inside. I didn't have pres for one of them and left it.

Any clue what faction this is (I ASSUME the 'Low' part of name implies another non Upside faction for gnomes?)

* WTF is up, since beta with the confusing Yellow and Orangey-Brown npc coloring I posted in beta and ppl said yellow std orange worse, organge better etc - ya, well I can see why no one knows, my factions in many place reset between the 2 depending on logging and when I get big faction pluses they go orange then back, other places they START orange from ppl who would presumaby NOT like me as much as those I quested for in my home lands...

Low Constable Tiprey is on Mekalia faction. The devs have fixed this internally, but I don't know if it has hit the live servers yet. If it did, it would have been in last week's patch. If not, I would expect it this week.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what is up with that. I think maybe prestige plays a factor as well, but I'm not sure. I always target the NPC from a distance if I think I might be KoS to him. No matter what color his name is overhead, his name will be red in the target window if you are KoS.
