Its incredibly slow!..
I liked Diplomacy at first but now I have to say I hate it. I dont want to grind grind grind civic! its not like grinding mobs which at least has a little bit of variety in it.. Grinding diplomacy means that you know EXACTLY what cards they have and EXACTLY when they use them and you now EXACTLY what to do to win.... its absoloutly, mind numbingly boring! (More boring than Mining on EVE) there is just no varience in it at all! I want quests!.. and I cant do quests because I dont have the presence to even start them... whats even more frustrating is that these quests offer rewards, rewards which are items and clothes which WOULD enable you to complete other quests... Ive been all around Kojan and the only way I can continue with quests is to either BUY diplomatic clothes or grind grind grind in the hopes that I MIGHT get the items I need... Thats it, I officially hate Diplomacy, the rewards and buffs you get from Civic arnt that good anyway, so whats the point?.. "oh but you get free stuff like a horse.. that will save you 10 silver!" BUT ITS CRAP! it goes MUCH slower than the basic horse you can buy! and it even looks crappier... you would have thought it would have AT LEAST looked cooler! I really loved the quests and the story lines... But I think I would actually rather be a crafter of some sorts.. at least I could make things which are usefull! So, unless Im missing something.. Diplomacy for me may as well be taken out of the game completly. WTS Crappy horse. |

i agree to an extent, i loved the newbie quests, i liked civic but i gets kinda repititive, and to get to anything else you need to grind civic for awhile. So i play it when i feel like it (tends to be when i dont feel like thinking too much :P) and otherwise stick to adventuring and crafting.

We definitely need more quests to earn presence types without requiring it. Or perhaps some 40'ish skill NPC in starter areas to allow diplo grinders to get the needed starter presence. Also, I hate that losing a match because of the wrong cards causes reputation loss. I think the time spent waiting for the npc to be parlay-able again is punishment enough. Ah well.. ~amp

Re: I Officially hate Diplomacy, unless im missing something.
yeah, im not so big on the civic stuff. its cool in theory, but I really would rather have more quest story based diplomacy options that I could do w/o having to grind civic. I dont like to grind, and civic diplomacy is just that to me. I really enjoyed diplomacy until i got to civic ... after that im just sorta ... meh.
I would like to see more story based quests for diplomacy. Civic is fine for some, but just not me. If I have a story to follow and a purpose behind it, it is much more exciting and fun. I realize they are continually working on diplomacy, but unless they bring something fun and worthwhile to the individuals who are participating, I dont see myself hanging on to diplomacy. I see civic as me busting my arse to benefit everyone else ... I want something for myself if Im gonna work that hard at something. I dont care if everyone else gets to ride on my coat tails, but I dont go out and adventure to raise everyone else's levels now do I?

Certain stations give diferent rare rewards. (IE Soldier stations give clothing on rare occasions, merchant stations give items this is an example as I can't rember what each stations will reward you with. But I'm pretty sure soldiers do give clothing occasionally.) Also Save the rumors, hersays, and such and you use these with a broker to get rewards.

Re: I Officially hate Diplomacy, unless im missing something.
I have found a couple small dip npc's while out adventuring which I was able to score a new card from. (one of them didn't even require a parley) I agree grinding dip is harsh atm but it's still a good diversion from time to time.
Thats what I love the most about this game. If you get tired of doing one thing there are always more things to find and do ![]()
