Re: Diplomacy cards
Though it can be misleading, the Diplomat's Tangent is our off-topic forum. Going to move this thread to The Academy, which is for diplomacy discussion!

Re: Diplomacy cards
The diplo quest for the horse takes places once you complete your 'initial' diplomacy line. This means that you do every quest your diplo trainer sends you on. Once you've done all the quests, he'll send you on the quest. You have to be level 10 to do the quest for the horse.
As for more cards, you get them from quests and civic diplomacy. Other than that, there is no way that I know of to get additional cards. |

Re: Diplomacy cards
For the past week I have been running around Cael Breal following all these quests, but which one leads to the horse quest? The Soldiers on the road? The Collection of stories for Milthior? Talking to Ione and learning another angle of diplmacy? There are many diplo quests that seem unrelated.

Quote:
Diplomacy is still being tweaked but part of the challenge is learning how to play with a limited selection of cards. For the most part (and I say this advisedly ) the NPCs can be beaten with the newbie decks we're given - some require vast amounts of luck and some are (or were) just plain too strong, but that's being tweaked as we speak pretty much.I'm not entirely sure I'm a convert to the new adapto-deck system, but even then it's possible to get through the lines (or should be). I've just taken a halfling through her newbie line and did ok, despite wanting to slowly kill a couple of NPCs. My wood elf is stuck near the end of the newbie line on one of the foreign envoys because her chameleonlike adaptability was making me froth at the mouth, but I'll go back to it once I calm down. ![]() The point I'm trying to make is that diplomacy isn't quite balanced yet, and may not be for some time. It's like a really tall, really fancy house of cards, and tweaking is probably quite a complex thing to do. If it hits your frustration meter really quickly (as combat deaths do mine), you might want to wait a bit. Also, the "free" horse quest is misleading. It's neither easy nor quick, and by the time you earn him you can easily afford a normal one - though you do get the bragging rights. ![]()

Re: Diplomacy cards
Well, I havent been adventuring for the past week, just doing the area diplomacy stuff. I dont get expressions and the other terminology but get the colors etc. It hasnt been too frustrating, if I lose I just readjust my deck/strategy and keep at it til I win. Ione is pretty tough but I'll get her!
Still confused about the horse quest, where do I get it? My diplo skill is mid 30's right now. And damn! My HP here never seems to move. Last edited by Vlawde : 02-06-2007 at 10:46 AM. |

Re: Diplomacy cards
Your HP is like mine - you registered ages ago and didn't post for a long long time, which translates into low regular contributions.
![]() As for the horse quest, you will not be offered it until you've finished the newbie line (which means you'll have 40 skill) unless the recent patch changed that. The orignial Diplo quest NPC should have the first step of it once it becomes available. If you don't see it, then it's probably not available to you yet.
