Disappointed
I love diplomacy, dont get me wrong, but I am SOOO frustrated right now.
I have been working on my horse quest ALL afternoon (from 4:30 until 10:00pm) - yeah, a long time. Here is my complaint. I am a half elf who is forced to do the Kojani diplomacy line (evidently half-elfs were shorted in this area). I am on the last quest, where I actually get my horse as a reward. The QG sends me off from Ca'ial Brael Harbor to Ca'ial Brael with a "loaner" horse and 3 statues to deliver and expects me to have this task completed within 40 min. It takes me roughly 5 minutes to get to Ca'ial Brael. The "upgraded" NPC AI makes it all but impossible to win parley. My first attempt, I ran out of time on my second delivery. My second attempt I won all the delivery parley and thought, "WOOT!!!" I was half way back to the QG when I realized the timer was still counting down ... "HOLY CRAP!" I didnt realize that the quest timer included my returning to the QG /geesh! I was literally 20 paces away from the QG when the timer ran out. IMO, if the timer isnt going to stop when the deliveries are completed and only when I have returned to the QG, then the "track quest" should have that included as one of the accomplishments toward completion. I am so frustrated at this quest I could cuss. I personally do not think that the timer should continue counting down ... it should stop once your tasks (deliveries) have been completed, and the fact that it doesnt and is not made clear in the quest's log is just plain wrong. /rant off

Re: Disappointed
Hint: recall.
I think this notion of the go-to-the-quest-ender being in the description but not in the step list is a common practice within the game. When the last step is complete, the quest is checked off on the quest list, but still there.

Re: Disappointed
I remember this quest from beta and it was difficuly. More importantly, Kaiga the Paladin trainer was near impossible. I had to travel to Kahl, buy a card just so I had a chance against him.
The quest is tough. but there really is ample time. Did you happen to equip the mount and ride the horse over? or did you walk? |

Re: Disappointed
Last night I was trying to finish the dark-elf horse quest (the whole newbie diplomacy questline was pretty awesome!) but the NPC I'm supposed to parlay with, Ikari, likes to run off and attack every yellow lvl-1 oder -2 mob that comes a bit too close to him. This of course interrupts the parlay, and I haven't yet managed to finish off the parlay before another another oh-so-scary scary lvl-2 scorpion lures Ikari off into another unprovoked attack. I've /bug-reported it in-game. So, no horse here either

Re: Disappointed
Now try doing all of that but being KOS to all the guards around the CG... Then you'll know what its like to be a goblin trying to finish that quest on the PvP Teams server. Its pretty much impossible. Now I'm about 75% in debt for my level because I tried to sneak around and figure how the heck to get it finished... yeah, it wasn't good day.

Re: Disappointed
Well, for all you half elfs out there, I finally did it - and with 25min to spare ROFLMAO!
I wrote down the strategy that worked with each NPC until I had all my strategies planned out where i could simply go in, beat them, and move on. If you are interested in what worked for me ... ***SPOILER*** Iona: Snippet of Wisdom/Common Ground/Catch Phrase/Loud Critisism/Aggressive Statement Somare: Snippet of Wisdom/Common Ground/Catch Phrase/Disarming (dont remember second word, but it took away either demand or flattery cause that is what she feeds off of, which ever lay blame doesnt take away)/Lay Blame Kaiga: Lay Blame/Snippet of Wisdom/Elvin Unity/Loud Critisism/Shifting Arguments I hit Somare first, then Iona, then Kaiga (just how I did it). As for Quote:
